Seeking escape, Craig takes a psychedelic lizard licked from a toad, expecting a profound awakening but feeling only disappointment. His attempts to reassemble his life include starting a new job as a parking officer and reconnecting with Stevie, even purchasing a van for Tami’s flower business. Nonetheless, his insecurities and jealousy resurface, culminating in a chaotic night where Craig crashes a guys’ night at Austin’s house, crashes Tami’s van, and pulls out the stolen gun during a tense confrontation. The chaos ends with police arriving and arresting Craig, who lies in the back of the patrol car imagining a perfect ending, glimpsing a wink from Austin that suggests maybe, just maybe, he’s on the road to acceptance and a new sense of himself.
