In St. Petersburg during the year 1916, a lavish ball is held to celebrate 300 years of the Romanov dynasty. The esteemed Dowager Empress Marie attends, filled with joy as she reunites with her granddaughter Anastasia.

During the festivities, Rasputin interrupts the celebration, proclaiming himself as Nicolas' confidant. The tension rises when Nicolas denounces Rasputin as a traitor, provoking Rasputin to curse the Romanov family.

In his rage, Rasputin curses the Romanovs, declaring they will be dead within a fortnight. Consumed by revenge, he sells his soul to acquire dark powers that will allow him to carry out his deadly intentions.

As Rasputin spreads chaos, a revolt erupts against the palace. Amidst the turmoil, Anastasia and Marie escape through a hidden passage, facing Rasputin once again on a frozen river.

During their escape, Anastasia falls and becomes separated from Marie. The fall causes her to suffer amnesia, erasing her memories of her past and family.

Fast forward ten years, rumors of Anastasia's survival circulate in St. Petersburg. Meanwhile, Marie offers a reward for her granddaughter's return, which piques the interest of conman Dimitri and his partner Vlad.

Now living in an orphanage as Anya, she remembers only fragments of her past, primarily a key from her childhood music box. Anya is sent to work in a fish factory, unaware of her royal lineage.

Fate intervenes when a playful puppy leads Anya back to St. Petersburg. There, she learns that to travel to Paris, she requires an exit visa, pushing her to seek out Dimitri.

Dimitri and Vlad recognize Anya’s potential to impersonate Anastasia. They devise a scheme to convince Marie of her identity, unaware that Bartok is witnessing Rasputin's return.

Anya, Dimitri, and Vlad embark on their journey to Paris, facing perilous circumstances including a dangerous train ride where Rasputin's minions try to derail their escape. Anya gains newfound courage to pursue her past.

Upon arriving in Paris, they find Marie frustrated by the growing number of impostors. Anya and Dimitri visit the mansion, where they encounter Sophie, who poses challenging questions to Anya.

As the group prepares for a Russian Ballet performance intended to impress Marie, tension grows as Dimitri's true motives linger beneath the surface. Everything seems to align for their grand plan.

Marie overhears Dimitri's dishonest intentions, leading her to confront Anya, who is taken aback and hurt. In a bold gambit, Dimitri takes on the role of Marie's chauffeur in a bid to make amends.

When Dimitri presents the music box, Anya's long-forgotten memories flood back. This emotional moment leads to a heartfelt reunion with her grandmother, bringing joy and relief to both.

As Rasputin closes in on Anya, a climactic confrontation ensues. Anastasia chooses love over royalty, eloping with Dimitri as Marie watches, realizing this marks the beginning of a new life for her granddaughter.
