The movie opens with ACP Narasimha Murthy placing a wreath at the grave of his wife Clara, highlighting his continued mourning. This act sets a somber tone and reflects his deep connection to her memory. The scene emphasizes his emotional state and his dedication to remembering her.

After attending a wedding, Murthy boards a train headed to Bangalore, where he befriends fellow passengers Vyasaraya and Indira. They connect over shared interests in theatre, establishing a bond. This journey introduces key characters who will influence the plot.

While at a terminal, Inspector Rajagopal boards the train and details his search for a pimp, identifying Vyasaraya as the suspect. Murthy recognizes Vyasaraya as the person he met on the train, raising suspicion. Tensions increase as the investigation unfolds.

Vyasaraya reappears unexpectedly, brandishing a knife and attacking Murthy to protect Indira. Murthy and Indira get off the train in panic. Vyasaraya’s aggression reveals his dangerous nature and sets off a series of tense events.

Indira confesses that Vyasaraya paid her mother to ensure her joining a drama company. Vyasaraya then takes her away by force, fighting Murthy off with henchmen. Murthy's attempt to find her highlights his concern and helplessness.

Murthy contacts Rajagopal to locate Indira but is unsuccessful. He then attempts to rebuild his life and witnesses Clara, a heavy-drinking woman, in danger. He rescues her from an accident and they develop a connection. Tragically, Clara falls to her death during their honeymoon.

In the present, Murthy mourns at Clara’s grave and visits a woman named Anandi in prison, hoping for answers. He learns that she was a pimp and is close to death, leaving Murthy without crucial information. He receives her letter with the names of her associates.

Murthy manipulates Kaatesh into making a written statement, which is cross-verified with Anandi’s letters. The evidence confirms Kaatesh is Kaatayya, one of the associates involved in criminal activity. This discovery pushes the investigation forward.

Murthy travels to Hubli to locate Vyasaraya’s hideout. He captures Vyasaraya’s aide, Vaikuntaiah, who reveals Vyasaraya has left for Bangalore by train that evening. This leads him to pursue Vyasaraya actively.

Murthy chases Vyasaraya on the train and notices a girl being chased by goons. He catches her and realizes it’s Indira, who is terrified and assumes he is yet another henchman of Vyasaraya. Her fear indicates ongoing danger.

Indira confesses that Vyasaraya forced her into prostitution and that she killed a man who tried to molest her. She has been on the run ever since, fearing for her safety. Her account uncovers the extent of Vyasaraya’s criminal activities.

Vyasaraya attempts to escape but gets his leg caught in the railway track. An oncoming train runs him over, ending his reign of terror. Murthy and Indira watch as justice is seemingly served, bringing closure to that chapter.

With Vyasaraya gone, Murthy and Indira walk into the darkness, suggesting a new beginning or uncertain future. The story closes on a note of relief and hope after a tumultuous journey.
