Mike Fallon is an assassin who specializes in disguising his kills as accidents, and he spends his nights at Oasis, a shadowy assassins’ pub where retired Big Ray tends bar. The joint is a tight-knit haunt where other regulars drift through: Carnage Cliff dispatches his victims with an axe, Poison Pete narrates surreal incidents, military veterans Mick and Mac swap war stories, Finicky Fred tinkers with unconventional weapons, and Jane the Ripper moves with practiced sword-wielding grace. The bar is more than a meeting place; it’s a proving ground where loyalties blur and old debts surface.
After a calculated kill of an accountant named Archie Rudd, Mike receives a call from Milton who assigns the assassins their next missions. The exchange feels off from the start, and when Mike is ambushed by an amateur assassin in an alley, he fights back and emerges unscathed. The encounter plants a seed of suspicion in him: Milton’s genteel facade clashes with a world of danger where trust is a rare commodity.
The tension tightens as Mike discovers Beth Carpenter’s death—his ex-girlfriend had been murdered during a botched burglary and was reportedly pregnant. The crime’s aftermath twists into a web of belief: Beth’s associates allege that the killers overdosed soon after, and Mike pieces together a troubling clue pointing toward Mick and Mac, whose MO specializes in disguising assassinations as random street crimes. Confrontations erupt, and Mick and Mac admit their involvement but claim they don’t know the identity of their client. In a fierce confrontation, Mike defeats them, while Big Ray cautions him to keep emotions out of the kill zone.
Driven by a need for truth, Mike heads to Beth’s apartment and questions her girlfriend, Charlie Adams, about whether Beth’s environmental work had earned her enemies. The night spirals as Cliff crashes the scene and attacks Charlie. In the chaotic struggle that follows, Mike unintentionally kills Cliff, tracks down Milton, and tortures him to reveal who ordered Beth’s hit. The answer comes in a sharp sting: a man named Leonard Kent sits behind the orders.
When the news lands, Big Ray reluctantly orders a hit on Mike for killing Cliff, setting the stage for a deeper dive into a larger conspiracy. A flashback reveals a formative chapter in Mike’s life: as a bullied 15-year-old paperboy, he witnesses a house explode and spots a man walking away from the scene. After weeks of recording and spying, Mike blackmails the man into training him to become an assassin. Big Ray steps in as mentor and surrogate father, guiding Mike toward a ruthless professionalism and teaching him to safeguard secrets at all costs—and never to betray the trust that forged his skills.
Back in the present, Charlie reveals Beth’s information on Pankot Petroleum, accusing Archie Rudd of providing it. Mike confronts Kent, who hands over a recording that implies another man ordered Beth’s death. The moment is shattered when Mick and Mac arrive, killing Kent and, in a brutal turn, turning friendly fire into tragedy as Mac dies and Mike bludgeons Mick with a fire extinguisher. Pete ambushes Mike outside, but he dispatches the assassin with ease. Mike spares Finicky Fred by knocking him unconscious, then proceeds to the home of Atal Zim, the oil magnate behind the conspiracy, where he exacts a decisive blow: he kills Jane the Ripper with her own katana and rejects Zim’s bribery, even decapitating him in a stark, final act of vigilante justice.
Returning to Oasis, Mike confronts Milton and plays the rest of Kent’s recording, exposing Milton’s plan to have Mike killed in the alleyway and naming Mick, Mac, and Cliff as the expendable pieces meant to close every loose end. Enraged, Big Ray assaults Milton, while Mike offers him a band-aid—an ironic memento from Finicky Fred—used to treat the poison Milton had planned to use. Milton applies the bandage and slowly dies, his schemes undone. With Milton dead and the truth laid bare, Big Ray allows Mike to go but warns him never to return to Oasis. Mike walks away with a vow to protect the city, stepping into a new role as a vigilante who operates in the shadows to keep danger at bay.
