Despite their concerns, John defiantly proclaims his desire to go out, leading the group to a bar where Esther Hoffman is performing her own songs. Under the pretense of enjoying the music, he attempts to keep his whiskey hidden, grappling with the bar’s strict no-alcohol policy. However, Esther takes it upon herself to protect him, allowing him to drink as long as he remains respectful during her performance.

Soon, John’s fans intrude on their solitude, leading to a disastrous confrontation that prompts Esther to intervene for John’s sake. Amidst the turmoil, she cleverly orchestrates an escape through a back door into John’s car. On their way back to her place, John invites Esther to the concert that afternoon, and she accepts, riding alongside him in his helicopter.
