A Gentleman

Gaurav is not a separate person, he is Rishi Purohit using a false identity. After the events in 2012 where his teammate Yakub killed an innocent civilian during a mission, Rishi decided to abandon his life as an assassin. To escape his dangerous past, he assumed the identity of Gaurav, a man who died as a casualty of Yakub's orders to eliminate witnesses. Rishi then moved to Miami to live a peaceful life.

Rishi took Gaurav's identity to escape his dangerous life as a rogue assassin. After refusing to help the CBI against Colonel Saxena and completing one final mission to gather evidence on corrupt Defense Secretary Mishra, Rishi learned that Yakub had killed Gaurav while eliminating potential witnesses. Seeing an opportunity for a fresh start, Rishi adopted Gaurav's identity and relocated to Miami, hoping to leave his violent past behind.

Earlier in the film, Gaurav's work assignment to Mumbai triggers the events that reveal his true identity to others.

Yakub killed Gaurav (who was actually Rishi in disguise at that time) because he was following orders to eliminate anyone who could potentially identify the Unit X team during their mission. Yakub was desperate to remove witnesses, and Gaurav became an unwitting victim of this reckless order. This incident further deepened Rishi's moral crisis and contributed to his decision to abandon his life as an assassin.

Rishi defeats Yakub by tricking him into believing he has the final pieces of incriminating data. When Yakub confronts Rishi at the climax, Rishi lures him into a confrontation that draws police attention. As chaos erupts, law enforcement takes down Yakub and his accomplices. For Saxena, Rishi engineers a final confrontation where he detonates an explosion that apparently kills the Colonel, simultaneously securing the evidence and dismantling Unit X.

Earlier scenes establish Rishi's resourcefulness and ability to think several steps ahead of his opponents.

The mid-credits scene shows Dixit purchasing firearms at a Miami gun shop, hinting that Rishi's past is not entirely behind him. This post-credit tease suggests that either Dixit is working with remaining enemies of Rishi, or he may be seeking revenge for the fall of Unit X. The scene sets up potential for sequel conflicts, implying new threats may emerge despite Rishi and Kavya starting fresh under new identities.

Kavya's parents Sameer and Ramika arrive unexpectedly at Rishi's hideout and find him in a confrontational situation with Koko, one of Jignesh's agents. The tense encounter, combined with Rishi's secretive behavior and the presence of another man, leads them to mistakenly conclude that Rishi is involved in a same-sex relationship. This comedic misunderstanding adds a lighter moment to the film while creating temporary complications in Rishi's relationship with Kavya.
