Meeta and Nikhil are two mischievous kids navigating their own separate worlds, employing clever tricks to get their way with their parents. Fast forward 14 years, and their lives briefly intersect when Meeta is fleeing from the wedding of one of Nikhil’s friends. At that same gathering, Nikhil encounters Meeta’s stunning sister, Karishma, played by Adah Sharma, and he’s instantly enchanted.

Seven years later, we find Nikhil, portrayed by Sidharth Malhotra, striving to establish himself as a businessman. He is engaged to Karishma, and while he manages an event management company, he approaches his future father-in-law for a loan of 6 crore INR to secure the IPL opening ceremony bid. Nikhil is a firm believer in staying faithful once committed, embodying the ideal partner every woman dreams of.

However, Karishma is infuriated by Nikhil’s request for money from her father and threatens to call off their engagement. In desperation, Nikhil pleads with her not to end things. She issues an ultimatum, demanding that he gather 5 crores before their upcoming wedding—just a week away—to secure an acting contract.

During this tumultuous time, Nikhil crosses paths again with Meeta, played by Parineeti Chopra, the younger sister of Karishma. Their brief encounter from years past resurfaces. Meeta, a brilliant IITian in chemical engineering, had previously fled to China after stealing money from her father—leading to his heart attack. She originally sought funding for her entrepreneurial ambitions but was thwarted by her conservative family’s disapproval.

Now, with the wedding looming, Meeta unexpectedly returns to reconnect with her father. Yet, Karishma fears that Meeta’s arrival might jeopardize their wedding plans. She tasks Nikhil with keeping Meeta away from their father, leading to a decision where Nikhil, instead of following orders, takes Meeta to his own home, introducing her as a friend of his younger brother, Kabir.

Meeta is vivacious and quickly immerses herself in Nikhil’s family activities. Despite her eagerness to reunite with her father, Nikhil continuously thwarts her attempts. As tensions rise, Karishma grows increasingly upset with Nikhil, repeatedly threatening their engagement. Despite his attempts to reassure her, it is Meeta who stands by Nikhil, offering consolation and support during these rocky moments.

In their conversations, Meeta reveals her motivation behind the theft from her father, explaining her quest to pursue a PhD in China. When her funding runs dry, she borrowed from a Chinese investor, only to find herself on the run due to the looming debt.

In the limited time they have together, feelings blossom between Nikhil and Meeta. Yet, Nikhil grapples with guilt, as he does not wish to betray Karishma. He also struggles to secure a financial backer for his event management bid, which is crucial to meet Karishma’s monetary demands.

Tension escalates when Nikhil’s family falsely accuses Meeta of stealing jewelry during a wedding event, but Nikhil fiercely defends her and ultimately clears her name. Simultaneously, Nikhil discovers that Meeta, in her pursuit of research funding, forged her father’s signature for a substantial loan, which now requires repayment in a mere three days.

Determined to help, Nikhil finds a way to hack into her father’s account, persuading Meeta to seek forgiveness from her family. In a heartfelt reunion, her father forgives her, and instead of resorting to theft, Meeta asks her father for financial support.

As the wedding day arrives, Nikhil realizes his true feelings for Meeta. After Karishma learns about their connection, she urges Nikhil to flee. In a dramatic moment, he dashes away from the ceremony only to find Meeta waiting just outside. In that instant, they each confess their love for one another, sealing their fate together. The film concludes with Nikhil and Meeta embarking on a journey to Germany, where Meeta ominously hints at further challenges awaiting them.
