A small group, Marie, Leonie, and Phillip, travel across a post-apocalyptic German wasteland in a Volvo. The daylight is deadly and water and food are scarce, so they continuously scavenges for supplies while dodging hostile survivors. Their goal is to reach the mountains where water might still exist.

A hooded man steals their food and water and abducts Leonie. Phillip fights him and eventually subdues the attacker, who reveals he is a mechanic. Phillip agrees to take Tom along as a passenger if Tom will repair the heat-damaged engine.
