Mantra

Mantra relocates to Hyderabad to begin a software job. Upon arrival, a taxi driver—actually an assistant from her employer—offers a paying guest option rather than a hostel. She agrees to stay with an elderly couple, marking a new domestic environment that soon becomes the center of the mystery.

She moves into the couple's home and settles into her routine. The couple Ramarao and his wife appear friendly and supportive. She begins to feel at ease in this new living situation.

As she starts her routine, she senses someone following her, as if to kill her. The unnerving feeling persists, casting a constant shadow over her everyday life. The sense of danger unsettles her from the outset.

A team of police confronts her, accusing her of involvement in a scandal. It later turns out to be a prank arranged by Vijay, her ex-classmate who has become a police officer in Hyderabad. The incident foreshadows the complicated relationship between them.

Vijay re-enters her life and reveals his identity as an ex-classmate turned police officer. Their renewed friendship leads him to introduce Mantra to his family and hints at a future together. He expresses a willingness to help her unravel the threats she faces.

Mantra recounts experiences of people trying to kill her, which motivates Vijay to investigate further. He agrees to help and starts following up on her scenario. Their collaboration sets the stage for a deeper mystery surrounding her stay.

Vijay presents a file containing photographs of the elderly couple and the driver who approached Mantra at the railway station. The evidence suggests a planned connection between her living arrangement and a past crime. He suspects there is more to her stay than meets the eye.

The group returns to the house and Mantra proves she has been living there by producing luggage and documents. The others realize she has been in a ghost-infested residence rather than a simple paying guest arrangement. The house's dark history begins to surface.

The ghostly presence begins to kill them one by one. The doors slam shut, cutting off all outside contact as the house isolates them. They struggle to find a way out, realizing they are trapped inside the haunted residence.

During the haunting, one victim dies from sheer shock after glimpsing a photo of Mantra. The events intensify the sense that the house hides a dark and personal history tied to Mantra. The tension escalates as the supernatural presence tightens its grip.

A ghostly letter reveals that Mantra is actually Ramarao's daughter, twin with Anjali. The elderly couple had adopted Mantra as their own after Anjali's death, reframing her identity and linking her to a long-buried family tragedy. The discovery itches at the foundation of the house and its occupants.

In the backstory, Ramarao's younger brother plots to seize the inheritance and murders Ramarao and his wife during their mourning. Mantra remains unaware of the danger outside the walls, continuing to inhabit the house that hides its deadly secret.

Just before an escape attempt, Ramarao's soul possesses Mantra and kills his brother. The haunting culminates in a supernatural catharsis that ties the living to the dead in a vengeful act. The mansion's curse is finally confronted.

With danger resolved, Vijay and Mantra embrace and exit the house, stepping back into the outside world. The haunting ends as they begin a new chapter together, free from the house's grip. The Hyderabad night air marks a fresh start.
