Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead

Years after a reality TV massacre, four college students head to the West Virginia backcountry for a rafting trip. Three Finger ambushes the group and murders the others, while Alex narrowly escapes into the woods. The brutal encounter establishes the deadly threat that will pursue the survivors.

Two days after the massacre, a convoy of guards and an undercover marshal transports Carlo Chavez and three other inmates—Floyd, Crawford, and Brandon—to a distant prison. Nate Wilson, Walter, Preslow, and Willy Juarez are tasked with overseeing the transfer. The tense journey sets up a new life-and-death conflict.

While en route, the bus becomes entangled with barbed wire from Three Finger's truck and crashes in the Greenbrier County woods near an abandoned paper mill. Preslow is killed in the crash, and Nate and Walter are taken hostage by the criminals. Alex is found hiding nearby, adding to the peril.

The survivors discover an abandoned armored truck filled with cash along the trail. Nate finds a gun and gives it to Walter, but the weapon is unloaded; Chavez shoots Walter in retaliation and takes control of the group. Chavez orders the others to carry the money toward a riverside campsite as they press on on foot.

Chavez and Floyd subdue the young cannibal Three Toes and behead him, leaving a deadly razor-wire trap as a deterrent for Three Finger. The brutal act demonstrates how far the criminals will go to protect their loot. The survivors are forced to keep moving despite the danger.

As Chavez presses their escape, Three Finger's traps claim more victims. Willy is killed by a deadly trap that Chavez unwittingly activates, and Crawford is lured into another razor-wire trap while attempting to hijack a vehicle. The group suffers more losses as they struggle forward.

Local Sheriff Calvin Carver discovers the crashed prison bus and teams with Deputy Ally Lane to locate Nate's group. The police involvement signals that the escape is now a public emergency and increases the urgency to recover the survivors. The pursuit spreads through the nearby town and woods.

Nate and Alex attempt to escape with Brandon distracting Floyd, but Chavez regains control after overpowering Floyd, who is left behind. The group is pushed further into the forest as the stakes rise and the criminals close the net. Tension escalates as hope for a safe escape dwindles.

The survivors reach the burned watchtower site where Carver locates them, but Three Finger ambushes and kills him. Ally Lane, still searching, is a looming danger as the rescue effort unfolds. The criminals gain the upper hand through brutal force.

Floyd seizes the money, only to be killed by Three Finger with a Molotov, burning the cash. Chavez then abandons hope of a clean escape and, in a cruel twist, tosses Alex to Three Finger to improve his chances of survival, resulting in her capture.

Brandon knocks Chavez unconscious to allow Nate to backtrack and rescue Alex. Three Finger overpowers Chavez during their fight and kills him, ending Chavez's threat to the group. The immediate danger shifts toward the cannibal predator himself.

Alex is found in Three Finger's cabin with Deputy Lane dying from a razor-wire net. Nate frees Alex, and they flee in a tow truck pursued by Three Finger. After a crash, Brandon pulls Alex free and Nate kills Three Finger with his meat hook.

The U.S. Marshal team arrives the next morning to rescue Nate and Alex, bringing a fragile sense of safety after a brutal ordeal. The survivors are finally extracted from the lethal backcountry nightmare. Relief comes after a hard-won rescue.

Sometime later, Nate returns to the forest to take the remaining money from the armored truck, only to be killed by Brandon. An unknown cannibal then kills Brandon, leaving the final fate of the money unresolved. The ending cements the horror that the backcountry holds.
