In the Amazon tournament, Antiope defeats Oreitheia in the final wrestling match and becomes queen. She immediately pushes for strict discipline and advocates a more egalitarian society, allowing men to return only for annual procreation. Oreitheia and other elite Amazons oppose her reforms and begin plotting against her.

With no permanent men, the Amazons hire men from another nation for reproduction once a year. Antiope participates in this arrangement, underscoring the tribe's reliance on external help. The ritual sets the stage for later tensions between Antiope and Oreitheia.

The Amazons meet Greek soldiers led by King Theseus during the reproduction ceremony. Antiope interacts with Theseus and remains skeptical of his motives. The encounter marks the beginning of a complicated relationship between them.

Oreitheia attempts to poison Antiope's water with an aphrodisiac. However, her handmaiden drinks the poisoned water instead, complicating the plot. The event destabilizes the already fragile political climate.

Theseus poses as a low-ranking captain and sleeps with Antiope, inadvertently impregnating her. Antiope discovers her feelings during the encounter and begins to rethink her stance toward men. The pregnancy complicates her leadership and loyalties.

The next day, Antiope injures her leg trying to outdo Theseus in a show jumping contest, preventing further intimacy. Theseus apologizes and tries to shift her views on men, but she remains steadfast. She orders the tribe to depart early.

The king suggests a route through the Blue Mountains, inadvertently guiding the tribe into a Scythian ambush. Theseus gathers soldiers to defend the Amazons and repels the attack with their help. The shared danger deepens uneasy trust between them.

Believing the Greeks orchestrated the ambush, Oreitheia leads a raid on Scythian villages in retaliation. The assault widens the warlike conflict and tests Antiope's leadership. The events heighten the rift within the Amazon leadership.

Theseus falls in love with Antiope and camps near the Amazon city. He saves her from an assassination attempt and secretly returns for another encounter. Antiope reluctantly accepts, trying to balance her desire with her duty.

Theseus sends his wife, Queen Phaedra, to the Amazon city under false pretenses to learn about Amazon society. Antiope's followers discover the deception and trace Phaedra back to Theseus's camp. The revelation strains the relationship between Theseus and the Amazons.

Antiope gives birth to a son, Hippolytus, which surprises the Amazons who favor female offspring. The birth triggers conflict and causes a loss of support from some followers. She grapples with dissent within her tribe.

Oreitheia returns from the Scythian campaign and tries to murder Antiope in her sleep. The two later share a nude wrestling match during a thunderstorm and eventually become lovers. The intimate bond shifts the tribe's political dynamics.

Antiope arranges another meeting with the Greeks to mate and then kill them in revenge for the ambush. Despite grim prophecies, Oreitheia pressures the plan. Antiope and Theseus reunite, and he confesses his love.

After their intimate reunion, Theseus reveals he knew of the assassination plot and had rescued Hippolytus. Antiope secretly travels to Athens to see her child. The remaining Amazons chase the Greeks to prevent the dishonor from spreading.

A battle erupts as the Amazons and Greeks clash, with Theseus ordering Antiope restrained to protect her. Oreitheia dies, and Theseus halts the fighting after enough blood has been spilled. In the aftermath, Antiope recognizes Oreitheia's ambition, places the queen's ring on her finger, and the surviving Amazons join the Greeks on the journey to Athens as Antiope begins a new role as adviser.
