In the vibrant heart of London, Victor Frankenstein, a passionate medical student, is captivated by a circus performance. The show takes a dramatic turn when he witnesses an aerialist, Lorelei, suffer an injury during her act, prompting him to leap into action.

Victor, fueled by his admiration for Lorelei, seeks to save her from peril. He is aided by Igor, a hunchbacked man who possesses extensive knowledge of human anatomy and is yearning for his own freedom from the circus's captivity.

Recognizing Igor's potential, Victor frees him and performs surgery to correct his posture. In a gesture of friendship, he names him Igor, after a late roommate, marking the beginning of a powerful partnership in Victor's ambitious quests.

Victor and Igor's groundbreaking work soon draws the ire of Roderick Turpin, a zealous religious inspector. Turpin condemns their experiments as heretical, creating tension and fear as they delve deeper into the creation of life.

With Igor's suggestion to use electricity, Victor gathers body parts from deceased animals to form a grotesque creature named 'Gordon.' The ambitious experiment quickly spirals into chaos when the creature escapes, wreaking havoc at the university.

Horrified by the consequences of Victor's actions, Lorelei urges Igor to persuade his friend to reconsider their path. Igor understands the intense guilt driving Victor, stemming from the tragic death of his older brother, Henry.
