Venky Mama

In Draksharama, renowned astrologer Ramanarayana lives with his wife Lakshmi and their son Venkatarathnam. He opposes his daughter's marriage, foreseeing tragedy for the couple after the birth of their son Karthik. True to the prophecy, Karthik's parents die in a tragic accident, and Ramanarayana urges that the child be handed to his paternal grandparents.

Venky Mama refuses to part with the infant and raises Karthik with care and affection. He even delays his own army enrollment to safeguard the child, shaping their close bond. The family clings to the belief that love can outlast the prophecy.

Years pass and Karthik disappears from home, prompting Venky Mama to search for him in a protected area in Kashmir. The army denies any such person exists, but Venky persists, recounting their shared history to press his case. The search marks the start of the central journey.

After completing engineering, Karthik declines offers abroad, preferring to stay with his uncle. His grandfather pressures him to move on, but Karthik's loyalty to Venky keeps him rooted at home. This choice deepens the sense that the uncle-nephew bond will shape the story.

Seeing Venky's loneliness, Karthik resolves to find a suitable life partner for his uncle. He begins to orchestrate social introductions to secure a wife who can stand by Venky's side, a plan that foreshadows the film's complex relationships.

Karthik meets Vennela, the newly appointed Hindi teacher, and tries to win her affection for Venky. She misreads his intentions, creating a tangle that delays Venky's dating prospects and sows tension among the trio.

Harika, Karthik's ex-lover and daughter of the ambitious MLA Pasupathi, arrives in the village. Pasupathi learns about the romance and schemes to split the couple, using political leverage that soon spirals into conflict.

Vennela falls for Venky, while Harika realizes that Karthik's priority is his uncle. This revelation cements Karthik's unwavering devotion to Venky and clarifies loyalties among the trio.

Feeling his nephew’s loyalty threatens his own plans, Venky attempts to disentangle from Karthik and even contemplates sending him to London. Karthik boldly proclaims that no one can divide him from his uncle.

Ramanarayana proclaims that Karthik is born to kill his maternal uncle, sparking a rift between them. Karthik and Venky refuse to accept it, but a string of incidents drives Karthik to leave home to protect his uncle.

Three years pass, and Ramanarayana announces that Karthik has joined the army to fulfill his uncle's ambitions. The bond between uncle and nephew endures despite the distance and time apart.

In the present, Karthik is held hostage by terrorists to bargain with their dead leader. Venky volunteers to swap places in a suicide mission. During the exchange, Karthik, swayed by a horoscope belief, shoots Venky, but he soon realizes the truth and saves his uncle, disproving the prophecy. The film ends with the uncle-nephew reuniting, and their loves finding happiness.
