Thirumuttathu Kochuthoma Siddique is a respected member of an acting troupe, living with his wife Mary KPAC Lalitha and their children — three sons, Johny Kutty, Paul Siddique, and Roy; and two daughters, Beena and Lisy. His youngest son Roy Jayaram is also a stage actor in the same troupe and harbors dreams of breaking into the film industry as a writer. The family has weathered hard times, yet they have managed to raise their children with care, discipline, and a shared love of the performing arts.

Roy’s life embodies a tension between talent and complacency. He earned a diploma in automobile engineering but remains jobless, showing little urgency to seek steady work. He stays engaged in the church choir and a drama group, fueling a big ambition: to make it big in cinema. His father is drawn to the same dramatic world, and the two often attend rehearsals together, returning home late enough to worry Mary and strain the family routine. Paul, a banker by trade, remains a steady critic of Roy and Kochuthoma’s pursuit of stardom, reminding them that fame is not guaranteed and that responsibility cannot be ignored.

Bhavana, a young woman from a poor background, supports her mentally unstable mother by going door-to-door selling products. One day, Roy crosses paths with Bhavana while searching for a heroine for a production, and she agrees to take the role because she needs money. Slowly, Roy falls in love with her, and the couple decides to marry against Kochuthoma’s wishes. Thoma’s disapproval pushes them to move out, marking the beginning of a new, imperfect chapter for Roy and Bhavana.

The newlyweds begin life in Bhavana’s modest home, where the realities of work and money press in. Roy’s laziness continues to complicate their situation, but Bhavana shoulder the burden, earning for the family and keeping them afloat without much help from Thoma. In parallel, Roy encounters movie directors and writers who see potential in him. When one director’s car breaks down, Roy helps repair it, and the director suggests redirecting his talents toward vehicle repair—a practical path that eventually turns into a successful livelihood for Roy.

Behind the scenes, the family’s fortunes swing with the broader tremors of life. Paul suffers losses as the bank faces trouble, and Thoma loses the money he had saved for Lisy’s marriage, a blow that lands him in the hospital. Roy steps in to help, and with Bhavana by his side, Lisy’s wedding is carried out. But triumph sits uneasy on Roy’s shoulders; Bhavana reveals that everything that happened was part of Kochuthoma’s calculated plan to teach Roy the value of hard work and to ignite his sense of purpose. The revelation comes from Bhavana with deep care and affection for both father and son, underscoring the complex ties that bind them.

Overwhelmed yet inspired by his father’s deeper intent, Roy [Jayaram] once again rises to the challenge, and Bhavana joins him in recognizing the truth behind Kochuthoma’s actions. The moment becomes a turning point rather than a setback.
