Satya Dinkar Jadhav [Ritesh Deshmukh] lives in Mumbai with his father, Dinkar Jadhav [Ashok Saraf], and dreams of earning a place on the Indian cricket team, starting with a shot at the Railways squad. While scraping together funds to pursue cricket, he crosses paths with Nisha [Jiya Shankar], and after a few tense misunderstandings their bond grows into a hopeful romance. But their relationship is challenged by Nisha’s strict naval father and a series of difficult circumstances. Nisha promises to return, yet she never does, leaving Satya to wrestle with heartbreak. He spirals into depression, turning to alcohol, and his own cricket ambitions begin to fade.
Meanwhile, Shravani [Genelia D’Souza], Satya’s neighbor who has loved him since childhood, watches his pain with quiet resolve. When she realizes Satya’s lingering attachment to Nisha, she gradually distances herself, but years later she marries him, moved by the shared grief of Dinkar and Satya. Yet Satya’s marriage to Shravani is more a response to family pressure than a true romance, and he drifts without work, living largely on Shravani’s Railway salary and clinging to memories of Nisha.
On a trip to Delhi to help scout young cricket talent, Satya encounters Khushi [Khushi Hajare], Nisha’s daughter. He learns from Nisha’s father that Nisha and her husband, Kunal, died in an accident. Grief-stricken, Satya agrees to take Khushi in as a coach and to train her as a cricketer, honoring Nisha’s wish. He brings Khushi back to Raigad for training, and he and Shravani both decide to adopt her. Khushi, however, makes adoption conditional: she will become their daughter only if Satya and Shravani resolve their own issues and stay connected rather than drifting apart.
As the bond between Satya and Shravani begins to heal, Satya senses Shravani’s enduring love and contemplates a fresh start. But Shravani worries that his change is just a gesture to please Khushi, and she contemplates a job transfer to Nagpur. When Satya drops her at the railway station, he confesses his love and apologizes for the pain he caused. A moved Shravani decides to stay, and they share a hopeful kiss, signaling a new chapter in Satya’s journey toward love. The film also features a cameo by Salman Khan in the “Yed Lagla” track.
