Vincent's information network runs through his peon Kunjoyi, who supplies details about legal and illegal dealings in the community. This gives Vincent leverage to police troublemakers and mete out punishments when needed. His subordinates, Kurukkan Ponnappan and Member Rocky, help him maintain order.

One midnight, Vincent hears a scream and uncovers a murder committed by Kattuthara Joy. He watches Joy and an accomplice bury the body in a ditch, remaining hidden as the crime unfolds. Although Joy claims to confess, Vincent senses the confession is a trap rather than genuine remorse.

Joy uses the supposed confession to frame someone else and to escape scrutiny. He spots Vincent behind the bushes, realizing his plan to trap Vincent will fail if the truth surfaces. The tense moment sets the stage for a dangerous cat-and-mouse game between priest and killer.

Kunjoyi informs Vincent that Lissy, Joy's wife, has died. The news intensifies the case and gives Vincent new urgency to uncover the truth behind the murders. He braces for new developments as the community mourns.

The next day, Lissy's funeral fills the village with songs and sorrow. Vincent is compelled to revisit the ditch and search for the identity of the buried victim. His investigation brings up connections to other missing people and local inquiries about Pollachi.
