Rahul arrives to take Kali on a Saturday outing to a cartoon movie, but Kali refuses to leave immediately. She stays inside the car on a busy Mumbai street and asks Rahul to come back soon. Rahul steps away briefly to meet his friend Chaitnya while Kali waits in the parked car.

Chaitnya arrives and discovers Kali is not in the car. Rahul and Chaitnya ask passersby about Kali and notice Shrilal, a mask vendor, who seems to be in possession of Kali's iPhone. A long chase ensues and Shrilal is hit by a vehicle and dies instantly.

Rahul and Chaitnya file a missing-person report at the police station. Inspector Rane questions Rahul and Chaitnya with relentless, intrusive questions. He dials Rahul’s home number and realizes the contact belongs to Kali’s step-father, Senior Inspector Shoumik Bose, who arrives at once.

Shoumik arrives with a police team and they search Shrilal's house for Kali. An elderly aunt who cares for Shrilal denies any involvement with Kali. The search yields no sign of Kali.

A flashback reveals Shoumik and Rahul competing for Shalini's affections in college. Shalini chooses Rahul, and later Shoumik marries her after an episode of abuse by Rahul. The scene hints at unresolved bitterness beneath the current events.

Another flashback shows Shalini unhappy with money and life, and she drugs Kali with sleeping powder in Kali’s milk to satisfy herself and spends the night with Chaitnya. This act foreshadows the family’s moral decay and the lengths they go to for selfish desires.

Rakhi Malhotra, Shalini's best friend, has an affair with Rahul and uses Kali's kidnapping to demand ransom. She calls for 20 Lacs and becomes part of the scheme to raise money for the group. The plot threads begin to strand on money and betrayal.

Shalini's brother Siddhant, a local smuggler, demands 50 Lacs, and Shalini adds her own amount to reach 65 Lacs, pressuring her father to pay. Siddhant is later caught with the money, highlighting the family’s internal betrayal. The family’s greed drives the scheme forward.

To raise funds for the ransom, Rahul attempts to loot a jewelry store but fails. The failed attempt complicates loyalties among the adults and increases the danger surrounding Kali's disappearance.

Rane traces Chaitnya's ransom call and catches him for questioning. The investigators uncover that Chaitnya was involved in the scheme but not the kidnapper, revealing the web of lies behind Kali's disappearance.

Rahul confronts Chaitnya about Shoumik's alleged involvement. A tense fight follows, and it is implied that Rahul kills Chaitnya in the altercation.

The next day, Kali is discovered in a deserted market area, her mouth and hands bound and her body fungus-ed from exposure. A detective explains she had been drugged and kept hidden, with Shrilal implicated in the crime.

The film closes with a bleak meditation on greed, betrayal, and the human cost of money. It suggests that none of the adults can fully escape responsibility for Kali's death, and that all were complicit in different ways.
