Two of a Kind

After a 25-year absence, God, now appreciative of Shakespeare, returns to the celestial realm. He is confronted by the overwhelming malevolence of humanity, which frustrates Him greatly.

In a moment of exasperation, God decides to obliterate humanity with a catastrophic flood. His loyal angels urge Him to reconsider, arguing that goodness still exists within humans.

To prove humanity's worth, God challenges His angels to select an example of an average person. They choose Zack, a hapless inventor burdened by debts and loan sharks.

Zack finds himself in a dire situation, needing to gather $13,464 by six o'clock to appease dangerous loan sharks. He resorts to robbing a bank, confronting a captivating teller named Debbie.

During the chaotic bank robbery, Debbie unexpectedly flirts with Zack and hands him a bag of cash. However, Zack quickly learns that the bag contains only blank paper, not money.

Debbie confesses to her roommates that she was fired for her playful behavior with the robber. With her landlord demanding rent, she turns to the money she acquired during the heist.

That evening, Zack is pursued by the loan sharks through New York's bustling streets. In a desperate moment, he leaps onto a moveable delivery truck, crashing into Debbie once more.

Back in Heaven, the angels suggest that if Zack makes a sacrifice for someone else, maybe humanity can be spared. God raises the stakes, requiring both Zack and Debbie to sacrifice for one another.

The Devil, disguised as Mr. Beasley, descends to Earth to undermine Zack and Debbie's relationship. His plans unfold as the cosmic battle between good and evil intensifies.

Zack discovers Debbie's theft from the newspaper and tracks her down at an acting workshop. Their awkward confrontation sparks an unexpected connection between the two.

As Zack learns about Debbie's dream of becoming a Broadway actress, their bond strengthens. He also shares his own dreams and the strange history behind his invention, edible sunglasses.

During a serene dinner, the loan sharks invade Zack and Debbie's night, instigating chaos. In the ensuing turmoil, both Beasley and the loan sharks threaten their happiness.

When a gunman takes Debbie hostage, Zack displays immense love and bravery. He suffers a grave wound, but miraculously with Debbie's heartfelt confession of love, he regains consciousness.

In a climactic encounter, angel Charlie confronts Mr. Beasley in the streets. Amidst the chaos, unlikely alliances form as Zack and Debbie emerge victorious in their struggle.

The film concludes with Zack and Debbie stepping into a joyful crowd marked by newfound hope. They are gifted a collection of Shakespeare plays, which prompts reflections on their wild and transformative week together.
