Trap for Cinderella

Micky regains consciousness in a hospital after severe burns and reconstructive surgery, but her memory remains blank. Doctors explain that she lives in London and that her parents died in a car accident when she was nine. She cannot recognize anyone around her yet.

Micky is discharged from the hospital and learns she has not regained her memory. Her aunt Elinor has died, and Julia becomes her guardian, guiding her back to a life she cannot fully remember.

A boy named Jake tries to contact Micky, but Julia intercepts the calls and tells him she is not ready to meet her old friends. The situation hints at a complicated past Micky cannot access yet. She remains oblivious to Jake’s true connection with her.

Among the photographs, Micky finds an envelope sent by Jake. She then heads toward the office of James Chance, Elinor’s lawyer who also employs Jake, setting a course to uncover her forgotten life.

Leaving Chance’s office, Micky runs into Jake, who invites her to his apartment. Since she memories nothing of their past, she bonds with him and they sleep together, sparking confusion about who she is. He also entrusts her with new information and a sense of closeness.

Back at her apartment, Micky discovers Do’s suitcase filled with letters, clothes, and a diary. Reading the diary reveals the depth of Micky’s friendship with Do and how their lives intertwined with Elinor’s world.

Julia bursts in and calls Micky by Do’s name, deepening the confusion. Micky flees to a hotel and signs the registry as Domenica Law while continuing to read Do’s diary for clues.

The diary chronicles Do and Micky’s childhood and later friendship, Do’s growing obsession, and jealousy over Jake. It also reveals Do’s love for Micky and Do’s ongoing correspondence with Elinor, including a returned cheque.

Micky learns that Julia and Do were to visit Elinor on her deathbed in France. Elinor dies, and Do agrees to Julia’s plan to kill Micky and then go to Switzerland to become Micky. The revelation ties together family secrets with the looming danger.

The plan to kill Micky by setting a house on fire succeeds, but Do sustains injuries and loses part of her memory after jumping from a window. The event cements Do’s role in the plot and marks a turning point in who really survived.

Serge, a local barman, reveals he overheard Do and Julia planning to kill Micky. This memory jolts Micky, triggering the realization that she is the survivor and that Do died in the fire.

Micky discovers from Elinor’s will that she left everything to Do, not to Micky. Julia attacks Micky in a confrontation that ends with Micky drowning Julia in a swimming pool, confirming the dangerous consequences of the past.

Micky spends the night swimming in the ocean to prove she is the real Micky, something Do could not do. She rests on the beach at dawn, a quiet but definitive moment of self-confirmation.
