Robin Hood, voiced by Jamie Bamber, leads his companion Jerry and the Merry Men in an ambush on a tax money transport moving through Sherwood Forest. The plan hinges on the transport being a trap laid by the Sheriff of Nottingham, Charles Shaughnessy, who acts as Prince John’s right-hand man and is accompanied by his henchcat Tom. Thanks to Jerry’s warning, Robin calls his band to the scene, and they strike first, ambushing the ambushers and seizing the gold transport. When John Michael Higgins as Prince John and the Sheriff discuss the latest fiasco, the Sheriff deduces that Robin uses Jerry to ferry information to and from a spy inside the castle, and he tasks Tom with catching Jerry to flush out the traitor.

That very night, Robin asks Jerry to deliver a love poem to Maid Marian, Grey DeLisle — Robin’s secret contact and love interest. But Marian is kept company by Tom, and when Marian spots Jerry approaching the castle, Tom attempts to thwart the mouse but fails. The Sheriff devises a plan to capture Robin at a staged archery tournament, using Marian’s kiss as added bait. Robin cannot resist the temptation and signs up, despite the misgivings of his men. When Jerry is chased by Tom while delivering a ring of love from Robin to Marian, the clever mouse accidentally helps him win the contest; the Sheriff unmasks Jerry and Robin and his men end up captured.

Jerry, the last remaining Merry Man aside from Spike, Tyke and Friar Droopy, slips into the castle to free his companions, but is discovered and engaged by Tom. As they fight in Marian’s room, they are forced to retreat when the Sheriff arrives and Marian is arrested, revealing that she is Robin’s informer. Tom finally captures Jerry, but John and the Sheriff soon learn that King Richard, the rightful king of England, is returning from the Crusades much earlier than expected, Clive Revill.

John and the Sheriff hatch a scheme to ambush and kill Richard before he can set foot on British soil, and they also decide to execute Marian for her “treachery.” In a twist, Tom revokes his loyalty to John, frees Jerry, and teams up with him to help free Robin and the Merry Men from prison. Meanwhile, John, the Sheriff and their henchmen ride off to set their trap for Richard. Spike, Tyke and Friar Droopy slip into the castle unchallenged and end up freeing Marian, with Spike Phil LaMarr leading the way and Friar Droopy aiding the effort with Joe Alaskey providing support.

Spike discovers the location of John’s ambush, and Tom, Jerry, Robin and the others surge to the rescue. They arrive just in time to thwart the assassination, forcing John and the Sheriff to close in for a final confrontation. As Robin and Richard stand vulnerable, Tom and Jerry intervene, engaging the two traitors in a sword duel that buys Robin and Richard the moment they need to regroup. Richard returns to his throne, Robin and Marian are marry, and Tom and Jerry are knighted for their loyalty and service to the crown. In a final, light-touch moment, Jerry accidentally strikes Tom with his sword during a brief chase, but Tom quickly forgives him and the pair ride off with their newfound honors.
