The Tower

Lee Dae-ho is introduced as a devoted single father managing the prestigious Tower Sky in Yeouido-dong, Seoul. He is a respected figure among his colleagues, and deep down, he harbors feelings for the restaurant manager, Seo Yoon-hee.

As Christmas Eve approaches, the building owner, Mr. Jo, plans an extravagant 'White Christmas' party. This event features helicopters adorned with lights that are set to shower snow upon the guests, creating a festive atmosphere in the tower.

Dae-ho initially plans to spend Christmas Eve at an amusement park with his daughter, Ha-na. However, he is forced to cancel these plans due to his responsibilities related to the party, which foreshadows the impending chaos.

On the day of the party, a critical issue arises with the building's water sprinklers due to frozen pipes. Despite the urgency of the situation, Mr. Cha, the safety section head, prioritizes the festivities over resolving the malfunction.

In a bid to impress receptionist Min-jung, the cook Young-cheol sneaks out during the crucial moments leading up to the party. His absence results in a mishap in the kitchen that heightens the tension in an already precarious situation.

Lee Seon-woo, a rookie firefighter, joins the Yeouido Fire Station. He quickly realizes that his new colleagues seem to prioritize leisure over work, which culminates in a memorable prank that leaves him embarrassed during his first day.

As the 'White Christmas' party commences, disaster strikes when strong winds cause one of the decorated helicopters to crash into the building. This catastrophic event sets off a series of incidents that ignite a significant fire within Tower Sky.

The crash causes panic and chaos among the partygoers, with shards of glass raining down. Amid the turmoil, Mr. Yoon and Mrs. Jung scramble for safety as the building begins to descend into pandemonium.

A security guard mistakenly allows a group of guests into an elevator just before a devastating explosion. This tragically seals their fate, as they become trapped and lose their lives in the ensuing disaster.

In the midst of the chaos, Dae-ho embarks on a frantic mission to save his daughter Ha-na and Yoon-hee. He navigates through the dangers of the building, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to his loved ones.

Firefighters Kang Young-ki and Seon-woo engage the raging fire, striving to rescue those trapped within the tower. Their courage becomes a beacon of hope in a dire situation as they confront the inferno head-on.

Amidst the flames, the firefighters take refuge in a Chinese restaurant within the building as they strategize their next move. They prepare to face the blaze that threatens to consume the entire Tower Sky.

In a climactic act of bravery, Young-ki sacrifices himself to save Seon-woo and numerous others. His courageous decision involves detonating explosives in a desperate attempt to halt the spreading fire.

The destruction ultimately culminates in the partial collapse of the building. The sacrifices made by the firefighters and those involved leave a poignant reminder of the courage displayed in the face of overwhelming adversity.

The film concludes with a haunting silence as the once-vibrant flames fade to black. The closing credits roll, underscored by a poignant score, honoring the heroism and sacrifices of those who fought to save others in a moment of crisis.
