Fireman

The film opens with Narendan Achari, Salim Kumar at a shop with his daughter who has been treated for a brain tumor. He is distracted as she goes missing, and the panic drives him to rush to the nearest police station, only to encounter officers whose lack of urgency leaves him frustrated.

On the same day, Lakshmanan Pillai, a fireman, has his send-off from service, marking a calm before a crisis. As Achari drives around in a frenzy to locate his daughter, a momentary lapse leads to a terrible accident that toppled an LPG tanker onto the road, blocking traffic and setting off a chain of dangerous events. Casualties mount quickly as the police and fire force respond to the unfolding emergency, and the tanker begins to leak ominously. In the scramble to contain the situation, a police officer inadvertently triggers an explosion, despite Pillai’s best efforts to thwart the disaster. The collision between duty and danger leaves Pillai gravely wounded, his lower body destroyed in the blast.

Vijay, Mammootty, a fireman, arrives on the scene and takes control, stepping in to steer the response and prevent a larger catastrophe. The improvisations and disagreements between Vijay and the police quickly surface as they clash over the right course of action, but gradually his leadership competencies start to prevail, and he is given full rein to manage the crisis. The tension tightens as the situation intensifies and the clock ticks toward a dangerous deadline.

Amid the mounting pressure, Achari resurfaces and makes a chilling threat: he will light up the area if his daughter is not found within two hours. The community near the jail learns of a gas leak and begins to panic, shouting for a way to evacuate. The police, led by Iqbal, Siddique, move to calm the crowd and restore some measure of order.

A refinery technician examines the tanker and discovers the root cause of the peril: screws and a connecting lamp on the chassis were not properly connected to the truck, compromising the safety system and the integrity of the cargo. Information flows in that the tanker drivers have gone missing, deepening the mystery and heightening the stakes. Vijay starts to connect the dots and surmises that the accident was part of a calculated plot by Achari to free a criminal friend from the central jail, a plan that would unleash chaos if successful.

With the clock still ticking, Vijay commands his unit to refit the LPG into a new tanker, recalibrating the system and ensuring that a potentially explosive release is redirected away from populated areas. The desperate bid to avert disaster hinges on precise coordination and quick thinking, a test of nerve for everyone involved.

The following day, just as Vijay and his team prepare to attend the funeral of their fallen colleagues, an emergency call interrupts the moment of collective mourning, pulling them back into the line of duty. In the end, the story underscores a stark, lived reality: a commoner dialing 101 believes in the immediacy of rescue, and the firefighters who answer those calls must balance courage with restraint to safeguard lives in moments of crisis.
