Two high school seniors, Buzz and Rick, set off on an exciting road trip to the Texas-OU football showdown at the Dallas Cotton Bowl. Their carefree attitude and inebriated state lead them to drive recklessly down an empty Texas highway, filled with anticipation for the game.

During their journey, Buzz and Rick engage in a series of mischievous pranks, one of which involves bullying a pickup truck driver they encounter. Their antics are light-hearted, but these actions foreshadow a more dangerous turn of events.

Their pranks do not go unnoticed, as they attract the attention of a clever radio DJ named Vanita 'Stretch' Brock. She becomes the target of their escalating pranks over the airwaves, which sets the stage for a deadly encounter.

Buzz and Rick's car phone conversations with Stretch spiral into chaos, leading them to unwittingly attract the attention of the notorious killer, Leatherface. This chaotic interaction marks the beginning of a terrifying nightmare for the two friends.

In a shocking turn of events, Rick attempts to defend himself and Buzz with a firearm, but it fails to stop Leatherface. The encounter escalates rapidly, leading to Buzz's gruesome death at the hands of the chainsaw-wielding maniac.

Following the violent encounter, the car crashes, resulting in Rick's death as well. The authorities soon arrive at the scene, left to piece together the tragic events surrounding the seemingly innocent seniors.

Lieutenant Boude 'Lefty' Enright, a former Texas Ranger, arrives on the scene. As the uncle of previous victims, he is fueled by a desire for justice and has spent years investigating chainsaw murders across Texas, particularly linked to Leatherface.

Lefty seeks out Stretch, knowing she possesses an audio tape of the horrific events at her radio show. He persuades her to air the tape during her night broadcast to awaken public awareness of Leatherface's terror.

In his quest for justice, Lefty conducts bizarre chainsaw tests in a local hardware store. Initially met with confusion, he manages to humor the staff as they witness his unorthodox methods of preparing for the confrontation.

Meanwhile, Drayton and his family celebrate their victory at a chili cook-off. Their joy is abruptly interrupted when Chop Top alerts them to stretch's broadcast of the gruesome tape, leading to a frantic response.

Leatherface and Chop Top go after Stretch, leading to a violent confrontation just as Stretch attempts to escape. During this chaos, the death of L.G. occurs, showcasing the brutal reality of the family's gruesome existence.

Cornered by Leatherface, Stretch's charm unexpectedly saves her life. She decides to secretly follow the family back to their underground lair, a grotesque amusement park transformed into a chilling sanctuary.

Lefty stalks the Sawyer family, executing a vengeful rampage in their lair. During this chaos, Stretch finds herself captured by Leatherface, facing a horrifying fate as she is adorned with L.G.'s skinned face.

Drayton discovers that Stretch has survived, leading to a macabre dinner filled with torment and terror. In a climactic moment, Lefty intervenes, rescuing Stretch from the clutches of the family just in time.

As chaos ensues, Drayton uses a grenade taken from Nubbins' lifeless body, culminating in a devastating explosion that wipes out himself, Lefty, Leatherface, and Grandpa. Stretch ultimately emerges victorious, signaling the end of the twisted terror.
