The Marine 5: Battleground

Former convict Cole and his accomplice Taylor shoot Rodrigo in a drive-by outside the bar. The gang bursts out and returns fire, wounding Cole and mortally wounding Taylor. The pair speed away in a truck as the gang closes in, setting the stage for a dangerous pursuit.

The bikers give chase, firing relentlessly at Cole's truck. The engine is damaged and Cole, hurt and bleeding, struggles to keep moving toward safety. He aims for a parking lot near the amusement park to escape the pursuit.

Jake Carter and Zoe respond to a crane collapse where bricks fall on Ana's car. They manage to pull Ana free, but she dies from blood loss before they can reach help. They then receive a distress call from the parking lot and hurry there.

Carter and Zoe arrive at the parking lot and find Cole alive but Taylor dead. Three gang members close in, and an attempt to escape is thwarted as gunfire destroys the truck's engine. They are trapped and fight to stay alive.

Alonzo demands that the men who shot Rodrigo surrender, threatening dire consequences if they refuse. Zoe stabilizes Cole, who has lost a lot of blood, while Carter heads back to fetch a medical kit from the truck.

Carter retrieves the medical kit but Murphy intercepts him and is killed. Zoe is knocked out and taken hostage by Deacon, leaving Cole and Carter in a precarious situation.

Two floors away, Alonzo holds Zoe at gunpoint. Carter uses Taylor's corpse as a decoy to distract them, and Zoe is released. After the attackers depart, they shoot Zoe in the head, and Carter must find cover.

Vincent, the gang leader, arrives and confirms the job was done but notes there should have been two attackers. Alonzo begins to search for the second man and calls for back-up.

Carter heads back to Cole but is intercepted by Deacon. Cole injects Deacon with morphine to blunt him, and Carter finishes him off with an axe as they hide in an elevator.

Carter questions Cole, and he reveals he killed Rodrigo to protect his five-year-old daughter and explains the debt that forced him. He also says the person who ordered the hit was one of the bikers.

As the confrontation intensifies, Vincent is betrayed and dies at the hands of his brother Cash. Cash proclaims he acts for the Lost Legion and still intends to kill Cole.

Recovering from his gunshot wounds, Carter escorts Cole in an ambulance and they kill the remaining bikers, including Cash. They head to a construction site to call for medical assistance.

Alonzo locates them and wounds Carter in a fist-fight. Cole makes it to the rooftop, and Carter arrives to help, ultimately throwing Alonzo off the building to his death. Medics arrive as they climb down.

Medics treat Cole at the scene, and Carter tells him he will have to tell the police about the entire incident and likely return to prison. Cole thanks Carter and says he can at least see his daughter grow up.
