Back in New Orleans, Billy shares his aspirations to retire with his love, Sophia. This moment reveals his desire for a peaceful life, contrasting the chaos that is about to unfold.

Barney receives an unexpected assignment from Mr. Church, a CIA agent. Tasked with retrieving a crucial item from a downed aircraft in Albania, Barney, along with Maggie Chan, embarks on a dangerous mission.

The mission takes a dark turn when they encounter the international felon Jean Vilain and his men. Captured, Billy is heartlessly murdered by Vilain despite the Expendables’ efforts to comply with his demands.

Devastated by Billy's death, the Expendables find a touching farewell note addressed to Sophia. This tragic moment compels them to pledge their support for revenge against Jean Vilain.

Maggie reveals that the item they retrieved is a computer containing coordinates to five tons of refined weapons-grade plutonium. This dangerous information unveils Vilain's sinister plans to sell the plutonium on the black market.

The Expendables track the plutonium's location to Bulgaria, where they prepare for a night at a deserted Russian military base. Their determination is tested when they are attacked by the Sangs gang.

Upon reaching a nearby village, the Expendables encounter armed female villagers defending their children from Vilain's forces. Moved by their plea for help, the team prepares to fight back against the oppressive militia.

In a strategic move, the Expendables execute an aerial assault on Vilain's base to rescue imprisoned miners. Their mission is successful, but Vilain manages to escape with the plutonium amidst the chaos.
