The Bloody Exorcism of Coffin Joe

After filming the final scene, Marins sits for an interview and is asked about Coffin Joe. He declares, 'Coffin Joe does not exist,' which shocks the crew as a camera light suddenly explodes. He then announces he will retreat to his friend Alvaro's country home to write his next film, which he envisions as 'The Demon Exorcist.'

Marins arrives at Alvaro's house and is greeted by Mr. Júlio tending the flowers. He is welcomed by Alvaro, his wife Lucia, and their three daughters: Betinha, Luciana, and Vilma. Vilma is soon to marry Carlos, setting up the upcoming tension.

Winds whip around the property and the horses become easily spooked, signaling something sinister at play. Later that night, Mr. Júlio tears off his shirt and shouts that a debt has come to collect him, heightening the sense of dread. Marins investigates a locked hallway and is attacked by flying books as the lights fail.

Betinha discovers tarantulas and a snake in the Christmas tree, amplifying the bizarre atmosphere. A strange woman, carrying a white cat and surrounded by occult figurines, appears and a framed portrait of Coffin Joe hangs behind her. The sequence hints at a hidden occult plot stirring within the household.

Lucia explains Vilma is the witch's daughter, obtained as a newborn due to her husband's infertility and the pregnancy was faked. Vilma's engagement to Eugenio, the son of Satan, is part of the witch's plan. The witch's anger at Vilma's engagement sets the house on edge.

Carlos is injured in a mysterious car accident, and Lucia faints with fear, convinced the witch is behind it. The scene then shows the witch biting the head off a rooster as a sacrifice, underscoring the occult threat surrounding Vilma's engagement. The sense of danger intensifies as the family braces for worse.

Marins returns to his room to hear Vilma moaning in the next chamber. He finds Vilma wandering naked and she strikes him on the head, pushing the danger closer to a breaking point. The line between dream and nightmare becomes terrifyingly thin.

Marins wakes in a room where a black mass is underway. Red-robed hooded figures—Luciana, Mr. Júlio, and the witch—stand with Vilma and Eugenio as the screams intensify. Coffin Joe materializes among them, rattling off the gleeful proclamations that define his character.

Coffin Joe ascends a staircase made of human bodies to reach the heart of the ritual, while topless dancers perform as the tortures continue. The room becomes a visual shock as he witnesses the ceremony. His presence anchors the horror at the center of the wedding.

During the wedding, Coffin Joe places rings on Carlos and Vilma, declaring that pain and blood must spread among them. The following sequence depicts torture, dismemberment, and live cannibalism, turning the celebration into a grotesque spectacle. The revelers press on despite the growing horror.

Marins returns with a crucifix and interrupts the ceremony, preventing Betinha's sacrifice. He exorcises Coffin Joe's influence from the family through Christian pronouncements, and the witch and Eugenio die as the result. The ritual collapses as reality intrudes on the occult feast.

Marins awakens in his room, checking on the others: Mr. Júlio prepares Christmas dinner, Vilma and Carlos share a warm embrace, and Betinha and Luciana open presents. He silently leaves as they sing Christmas carols, choosing not to linger. The final shot lingers on Betinha's face and the reflection in her eye shows Coffin Joe laughing amid screams.
