At the climax, Jordan confronts the reality of his own life. His affair, once a reckless experiment, now feels like an inescapable trap he can’t escape from. When he finds the woman from Suite 320, he is overwhelmed by guilt and shame but also confused about his true feelings. His relationship with Caroline, who also reveals she had received a similar letter, becomes strained as they both confront their secrets and lies. Despite his desperation and obsession, Jordan’s frantic attempt to destroy evidence is thwarted when Caroline catches him in the act.
