Golam (2024) – Full Plot Summary & Ending Explained

Read the complete plot breakdown of Golam (2024), including all key story events, major twists, and the ending explained in detail. Discover what really happened—and what it all means.

Issac John, Dileesh Pothan the MD of V-Tech Company, is found dead inside the office restroom, the door locked from the inside. When the police arrive, the scene initially looks like an accident—a head injury from a slip and fall, with no clear sign of forced entry or a struggle around the body or the room. Yet the seasoned instincts of ASP Sandeep Krishna [Ranjith Sajeev] push him to look beyond the surface, especially since John was known to cope with COPD. The case quickly becomes a tense puzzle about what really happened behind the closed lock.

The investigation turns toward John’s business partner, Gibson George [Sunny Wayne], a name that radiates suspicion in the minds of the investigators. Gibson reveals a crucial, almost cold fact: according to John’s will, control of the company would pass to his USA-based brother Evan after his death, which seems to erase any straightforward monetary motive for murder. As the questions pile up, the police grill every employee who was in the building at the time. One of them is found carrying sleeping pills, a clue that hints at a more intricate scheme than a simple accident.

The probes uncover a broader pattern: most of the employees are connected to Dr. Kuriakose Chemmanam [Siddique], a neuropsychiatrist-neurosurgeon who is well known to Sandeep. On initial denial, Dr. Kuriakose eventually concedes that one employee, Meera Manoj [Chinnu Chandini Nair], who is also his wife, had been under his care after a stillbirth and was struggling with depression. The plot thickens as investigators learn that mutagens—substances capable of altering DNA—were detected in Meera’s blood and then in two other employees who reported headaches and sleeplessness. Under pressure, the doctor explains that he had advised bringing more employees who might be suffering from health issues to him for treatment, and he confirms the presence of mutagens in the workplace.

Further tests reveal a chilling discovery: the mutagens are real and troubling, capable of DNA alteration. The labelling of the project at V-Pharma Pharmaceuticals—John’s co-founded company—appears to point to something bigger than a routine medical study. Several files stolen from John’s PC, including a blueprint of the office’s punching machine, surface during the inquiry. The investigators piece together that V-Pharma was allegedly working on an antidote or a first-stage vaccine for HMV, also known as the Red Virus, with the aim of creating a supply-and-demand scenario. The employees became unwitting participants, receiving the antidote through contaminated snacks and water, all while their vital responses were monitored by the DNA-punching device. The result, as described by those involved, was a landscape of permanent health issues and deep emotional distress—the kind of consequences that could drive victims to seek vengeance.

As Sandeep delves deeper, CCTV footage reveals the method the group used to kill John: each employee, except Rajeev K V [Ansal Palluruthy], took part in a coordinated plan to guide John to the restroom to clean up a deliberately spilled coffee. They locked the door from the outside and left him to suffocate from carbon dioxide, with the noise of an operating vacuum cleaner masking any cries for help. In Sandeep’s view, the act itself reads as murder, yet his conscience leads him to declare the incident an accident, a decision that weighs heavily on him as the truth about the group’s motive and the larger scheme remains unresolved.

In a twist that broadens the scope of the investigation, Gibson is revealed to be entwined in the illegal and unethical activities of V-Pharma as well. Guided by Dr. Kuriakose’s information, Sandeep follows the trail to a lab where more secrets lie in wait. The climactic moment comes when Gibson, now the MD of V-Tech, is shown occupying John’s former cabin, while the remaining employees look on with a mix of accusation and uncertainty. The conclusion leaves the door open for questions about accountability, the ethics of the conspirators, and the true extent of the V-Pharma project’s reach.
