During the Mumbai trip, Kannan disappears, triggering a frantic search by his colleagues. The absence raises questions about the risks in their gold business and the debts he faced.

Kannan's body is discovered in a Mumbai hotel room, hanging from a ceiling fan amid a chaotic scene. The door was reportedly locked from the outside, and the room shows signs of a struggle.

Keerthy, Kannan's wife, is contacted by the police to verify his identity. Investigators begin piecing together the events surrounding his death.

A postmortem finds multiple wounds on Kannan and suggests foul play, contradicting a simple suicide. Authorities also discover that 8 kg of gold that Kannan was supposed to be carrying is missing.

Muthu and his colleagues enlist Inspector Jayant Sakhalkar of Chembur Police Station to conduct the inquiry. The investigation widens as they examine alibis and the missing gold.

The inquiry reveals Kannan had planned his own murder with Arul and Abbas to escape his debts. He had told Arul about the plan, and Abbas was instructed to create a chaotic scene to stage a murder.

Abbas creates chaos in the hotel room, inflicts wounds, and takes 2 kg of gold as part of the plan, then leaves Kannan tied with the door locked from outside. After Abbas departs, Kannan frees himself and hangs himself.

Investigators learn that Kannan never had 8 kg of gold; he possessed only 2 kg, which he handed to Abbas to fulfill the ruse. The missing gold drives the motive behind the elaborate plan.

Inspector Jayant concludes the death was a suicide, based on the inconsistencies and the lack of an external attacker. The police findings challenge the initial murder suspicions.

Arul tells Keerthy that Kannan had entrusted him to relay the truth that he tried his best and accepted the only escape he could find. He hands over Kannan's gold locket as a keepsake.

Muthu wrestles with the revelation and contemplates pursuing a murder verdict to protect Kannan's family from creditors. He weighs personal guilt against the ethical need for closure.

Disillusioned by the events, Keerthy deposits Kannan's gold locket in a temple's hundial, symbolizing letting go and safeguarding the family's future.

All of them return to Thrissur from Mumbai, each wrestling with guilt, debt, and the complex fallout of Kannan's death.
