Sunrise

In the summertime, a Woman from the city travels to a small town in the countryside seeking relaxation and sightseeing. She settles in one particular town, staying for several weeks while exploring the local scenery.

Dressed up and wanting to explore, the City Woman asks her landlord's wife to shine her high-heeled shoes. She then wanders through town and comes across a farmer, The Man, who changes his coat before meeting her, unaware that his wife is noticing his absence.

As The Man leaves his house to meet the City Woman, his wife sadly observes his departure, feeling the burden of change that has come over their happy lives since the City Woman's arrival. Townswomen lament the couple's lost happiness while reflecting on how money lenders are threatening their livelihood.

Under the moonlight, The Man meets the City Woman in a secluded area, where they share an intimate kiss. The City Woman expresses her desire for him to sell his farm and join her in the city, sparking a conflict in The Man's heart as he considers his wife.

The City Woman reveals her ruthless plan to eliminate The Man's wife, suggesting a boat accident. Despite her cold suggestion, The Man struggles with his feelings of anger and love for his wife, ultimately rejecting her dangerous proposal.

The Man invites his wife on a boat trip, but he is internally conflicted as he takes along a bundle of reeds meant for his dark purpose. The loyal family dog senses trouble and persistently follows them, causing The Man to return the dog home but still proceed to the water.

As they row, The Wife notices a disturbed change in her husband's demeanor, leading to a tense moment when he considers his dark intentions. Ultimately, the surge of love prevails, and he rows back to shore, leaving her confused and frightened.

After a stressful interaction, The Man takes The Wife out for a meal, where she breaks down in tears, revealing the emotional strain their relationship has undergone. The Man's guilt and shame surface as they inadvertently find themselves at a wedding ceremony, prompting a heartfelt reconnection.

The couple embraces in the wake of their renewed vows, walking hand in hand through a busy city street. They enjoy light moments filled with laughter and love, participating in various joyful activities, culminating in a playful day filled with memories.

As the couple enjoy a blissful evening on the water, a sudden storm begins to rise, wreaking havoc on their boat. In a desperate attempt to save them both, The Man binds his wife with the reeds, but they ultimately capsize in chaos.

After the storm passes, The Man wakes on the shore, frantic and distraught, calling out for his wife. Meanwhile, the townsfolk mobilize to search for her, igniting a sense of urgency and dread among the community.

Convinced that his wife has drowned, The Man returns home in despair, a dark rage beginning to consume him. The Woman from the City tries to confront him but is met with hostility until news arrives that The Wife has been found alive.

The Man rushes to find his wife and upon arriving home, he finds her waking from unconsciousness. They embrace, overwhelmed with emotion, and are joined by joyous townsfolk who celebrate her miraculous recovery.

As the sun rises, the couple share a tender moment, embracing and solidifying their love. The Woman from the City departs, leaving behind the chaos she stirred in their lives, allowing the couple to look forward to a new beginning.

The film concludes with an ethereal image of The Man and The Wife dissolving into the sunrise itself, symbolizing their renewed bond. It captures the essence of their journey through love, conflict, and redemption.
