A vibrant dance epic that captures the rich tapestry of movements and the camaraderie that can blossom between two rival groups, this film unfolds in the bustling city of London. The narrative revolves around two competitive dance crews hailing from the diverse cultures of India and Pakistan, whose near-constant clashes, whether at a local café or an intense underground street dance battle, gradually lead them to the profound realization that they share common roots and aspirations to uplift their communities from the Asian subcontinent.

The story centers on Sahej, portrayed by Varun Dhawan, who leads a dynamic dance crew alongside members like Poddy (Raghav Juyal), Shushi (Sushant Pujari), and others. Their rival group is directed by the fierce and talented Inayat, played by Shraddha Kapoor, who consistently outperforms Sahej’s team in various dance competitions. Inayat comes from a traditional Muslim household, and she keeps her passion for street dancing hidden from her father, Faris (Umair Asanti Khalil), who holds conservative views.

Meanwhile, Ram Prasad, played by Prabhu Deva, is the owner of a neighbourhood pub where both dance groups frequently gather to enjoy Ind-Pak cricket matches, often leading to heated confrontations. Sahej, hoping to gain an advantage over Inayat, convinces his girlfriend Mia (Nora Fatehi), a top-tier dancer and member of a professional crew, to assist his crew in mastering a new dance routine.

As Inayat learns about Ram’s charitable efforts to support struggling immigrants, she discovers the dire circumstances faced by those seeking help. Sahej, on the other hand, reveals to his friends that he aided several drummers from Punjab to enter the UK illegally, leaving him to grapple with his own selfish actions. The plot thickens when Sahej and Inayat decide to participate in the prestigious Ground Zero competition, a dance battle that offers a lucrative prize of 100,000 GBP. Inayat hopes to use the winnings to support Ram’s charity, while Sahej aspires to restore his brother’s dream after a debilitating injury.

After refusing to partner with each other despite Ram’s urging, Sahej’s crew joins Mia’s group, which leads to friction as they face discrimination within a multicultural team. Tensions rise when one of Sahej’s crew members, inspired by Inayat’s mission, chooses to leave and join her. Throughout the semi-finals at Ground Zero, a pivotal moment arises when Sahej overcomes his pride and performs for Inayat’s group during a critical point of their competition, propelling them into the finals against Mia’s crew.

As the finals approach, practice sessions commence under the guidance of Ram. However, when Inayat’s family uncovers her involvement in dancing, she faces restrictions imposed by her parents. With Sahej advocating for her true aspirations during a heartfelt conversation, they eventually gain permission for her to compete. The finals unfold with the Royals triggering a sabotage against Inayat’s performance, leading the judges to initially favour them. Yet, in a moving turn of events, the drummers from Punjab, aided by Sahej’s self-realization, provide a rhythmic backdrop that empowers Inayat and Sahej’s crew to deliver a powerful performance.

Through their collaboration, both teams not only triumph in the dance competition but also unite to assist the immigrants in returning to their homelands and reconnecting with their families. Thus, the film culminates in a celebration of dance, unity, and cultural pride, demonstrating that art can overcome rivalry and foster compassion across borders.
