The world’s greatest spy decides to leave behind his thrilling adventures to settle down with the woman he adores. However, when a madman seeks to acquire a catastrophic weapon, he must abandon his mundane life to not only safeguard the world but also to revive his lackluster marriage.
Corey Gage (Drew Van Acker) is an accomplished spy who encounters Pam Grayson (Poppy Delevingne) during a mission aimed at capturing Doyle Egan (Max Silvestri), who is on the brink of obtaining a weapon of mass destruction. Egan manages to escape while Corey is sidetracked by Pam at a mall, where she is promoting cosmetic samples.
As Corey and Pam begin to forge a connection, Pam expresses doubt about Corey’s happiness, fearing he will never find contentment in life. Corey reassures her, claiming he is already fulfilled. Pam, however, makes it clear that she prefers a domestic life, filled with simple activities like watching films and doing laundry over thrilling escapades.
Captivated by Pam’s unexciting lifestyle, Corey decides to leave his spy career, bidding farewell to his partner Smuts (Blake Anderson). He relinquishes his spy implants and transitions into a more ordinary existence as a cardboard box salesman, excited to begin this new chapter alongside Pam.
Pam loves to prepare for dinner parties but often finds herself organizing them without ever hosting one. As time passes, the initial thrill of their love starts to fade, revealing the stark reality of a monotonous lifestyle. Corey struggles at work, with his cardboard box sales dwindling, and their home slowly falling apart. His coworkers, including Bob (Brian Sacca), Fred (Lane Garrison), and Ted (Migs Govea), add to the tension.
Unbeknownst to Corey, Pam was once a vivacious party-goer who was looking for a “normal” life when she chose him. Smuts contacts Corey, revealing that Egan is now married and honeymooning in the same town. The agency’s therapist points out that Egan was Corey’s first significant failure, which he evaded, and this unresolved issue begins to strain Corey’s marriage. The agency believes Egan’s marriage is merely a ploy to regain access to blueprints for a new weapon.
To counter this threat, Smuts proposes that Corey pose as married to a fellow agent, Alexandria (Natasha Bassett), while tracking Egan. Alexandria is alluring and expresses a desire for a romantic relationship with Corey, even helping him spruce up his appearance for the mission. Meanwhile, Pam grows suspicious of Corey’s odd behavior and seeks advice from her friend Brianna (Brittany Furlan), leading her to follow Corey.
In a twist of fate, Smuts purchases thousands of boxes under Corey’s name, leading to an unexpected “Salesman of the Year” award for Corey, along with a week’s stay at the same hotel where he is monitoring Egan. As Corey and Alexandria pose as swingers to lure Egan, they are invited for a pool date by Egan’s wife.
As events unfold, Pam follows Corey to the hotel, feeling a growing disconnection in their relationship. Upon witnessing Corey with Alexandria, she confronts him, leading to a series of misunderstandings. Alexandria rushes to confront Egan, only to discover that he already has the necessary files.
During a chaotic dinner party that Pam organizes for their friends, Egan’s goons attack, forcing Corey, Pam, and their friends to join forces against them. Despite all the turmoil, Pam ultimately files for divorce, launching her own successful cosmetics line called Undercover. In the weeks that follow, both Corey and Pam come to realize they are meant to be together, finding new paths that bring them back into each other’s lives, supported by their collective friends.
