Sleepwalkers

Tanya Robertson, a virginal young woman working at a local theater, meets the new student Charles Brady, who has transferred from Paradise Falls, Ohio. They quickly hit it off and make plans for a photo date at Homeland Cemetery, setting the stage for their intertwining fates.

On his way home from school, Charles is confronted by Mr. Fallows, his English teacher, who blackmails him over the authenticity of his school transcripts. In a moment of rage, Charles retaliates violently, ripping off Fallows' hand and killing him, marking his first significant descent into chaos.

After killing Mr. Fallows, Charles experiences a wild chase from Sheriff Andy Simpson. However, the unexpected presence of Andy's cat, Clovis, causes Charles' face to shift, revealing his true nature, which adds more tension to the pursuit.

Following the violent incident, Charles notices an overwhelming number of cats gathering in the Brady yard. He and his mother, Mary Brady, realize that they are being hunted once again, a recurring theme in their nomadic existence as sleepwalkers, highlighting the danger they face.

During their date at Homeland Cemetery, Tanya prepares a picnic while Charles engages in grave rubbings. However, their romantic moment turns dark when Charles attempts to steal Tanya's breath, showcasing his predatory nature, leading to a struggle between them.

As Charles continues to drain Tanya's lifeforce, she fights back by hitting him with her camera and ultimately skewering his eye with a corkscrew. This violent confrontation is pivotal as it reveals Tanya’s strength and resilience against her assailant.

After the encounter, Tanya bursts out of the cemetery, frantic and pursued by Charles. Sheriff Andy, who arrives on the scene, is quickly caught in the conflict when Charles attacks him, leading to a series of tragic events as chaos unfolds.

Mary Brady, desperate to protect her son, goes on a violent rampage at the Robertson household. She attacks Mr. and Mrs. Robertson, causing extreme chaos and further escalating the conflict as the police try to intervene.

As the police surround the Brady house, Mary captures Tanya and threatens her, asserting her dominance. The confrontation reaches a boiling point when Charles, near death, attempts to feed on Tanya once more, and she retaliates with fierce determination.

In a dramatic moment, Mary is overwhelmed by the swarm of cats and ignites in flames. This symbolizes the culmination of chaos as the battle between her protective instincts and the supernatural forces at play unravels, leaving Tanya to confront the horror.

As Mary burns up in the driveway, she screams at Tanya, blaming her for Charles' fate. Clovis, the cat, joins Tanya in the patrol car, providing a moment of solace amidst the chaos, symbolizing a fragile hope and connection in a world gone mad.

With Mary defeated and engulfed in flames, the chaos begins to settle as the cats disperse. Tanya is left to process the trauma of the encounter, as she now faces a world altered forever by the supernatural events surrounding her.
