Shattered

Dan Merrick and his wife Judith crash on a dark coastal road; Dan suffers severe brain trauma and amnesia. Judith helps him recover and they bring him home after extensive plastic surgery. The accident sets off a chain of memory gaps and hidden truths.

With limited memory, Dan relies on trusted friends to reconstruct his past. He experiences frequent flashbacks that feel like the events leading to the crash but don’t fit his current memories. Discrepancies between what he remembers and what others tell him begin to surface.

Dan discovers photographs suggesting Judith slept with another man. A large payment to a private investigator is traced to Judith, revealing she was involved with Jack Stanton. These clues deepen his suspicions about his former life.

Judith arranges a meeting with Jack Stanton and Dan follows her. Judith stops at an old shipwreck slated for removal by Dan's company. Dan postpones the removal, hoping the site will trigger memories.

Jenny accuses Judith of orchestrating the accident to kill Dan. Dan enlists Gus to monitor Judith via a wiretap and tails her to a hotel where Stanton is to meet her. A tense chase through a wooded area follows, culminating in gunfire from Stanton's car.

During the pursuit, gunshots are fired and Dan and Gus crash; Stanton escapes into the woods. The episode heightens the sense that Dan's reality is unraveling as he navigates danger and suspicion.

Back at home, Dan arms himself and waits in ambush. The intruder is Judith, disguised as Stanton. She reveals that Stanton is dead and that they covered up his murder by disposing of his body in the shipwreck while postponing its removal.

Dan receives a phone call from Jenny and goes to see her, only to find her dead. Gus, suspecting Dan of murder, confronts him, and Dan persuades Gus to come with him to the shipwreck for answers.

At the shipwreck, a chemical storage container is found and a body that looks exactly like Dan is dredged up. Dan realizes he is not Dan Merrick at all; he is actually Jack Stanton.

A flashback reveals Judith killed her husband and enlisted Jack to help cover up the crime. Jack wanted out, but Judith forced him to participate. She planned to dispose of Dan's body at the shipwreck and used what she believed to be a dissolving agent.

Judith is determined to kill Jack and herself in a murder‑suicide car crash, but Jack escapes at the last moment. Judith dies in the wreck, leaving Jack and the truth exposed in the aftermath.

Gus survives his plunge into the water thanks to his asthma inhaler. He and Jack (whom Judith mistook for Dan) board a police helicopter, which lifts off with the fate of Merrick's fortune hanging in the balance.
