A tranquil day in a national forest turns dangerous once hunting season starts. While most bears retreat to a cave, Humphrey fails to hide and seeks refuge in a cabin. Spotting hunter Donald Duck, he stashes the bearskin rug in a trunk and pretends to be the rug. Donald’s careless habits—cracking nuts, drinking from bottles, and tossing the rug through the washer‑dryer—make Humphrey’s disguise miserable. When the season ends and Donald departs, Humphrey is relieved, only to discover an unexpected surprise.
