Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore

The film opens with Pooh walking to a wooden bridge over a river. He finds a fir cone, drops it into the water, and watches the current carry it away. Inspired by the cone's journey, he invents a racing game using sticks, naming it Poohsticks.

Pooh, Piglet, Rabbit and Roo play Poohsticks and spot Eeyore floating in the river. Eeyore is rescued, and he explains he fell in after being bounced from behind. The others suspect Tigger, and the narrator reveals that Tigger had indeed bounced Eeyore earlier, prompting Tigger to leave in disgust.

Pooh follows Eeyore to his Gloomy Spot and discovers it is Eeyore's birthday, but no one has noticed. Feeling sorry for his gloomy friend, Pooh resolves to mark the day with a small gift: an empty honey pot with a birthday note.

Pooh asks Owl to write a birthday message on the empty pot. Owl agrees and hops off to spread the news to Christopher Robin about Eeyore's birthday.

Piglet, informed by Pooh, plans to give a balloon to Eeyore but is distracted by Owl, letting the balloon pop. Pooh arrives with the empty pot, and Eeyore is cheered because he can place the broken balloon into the pot and remove it again.

A party is thrown for Eeyore, and Tigger shows up uninvited. The group debates whether Tigger should stay given his past treatment, prompting Christopher Robin to propose a shared activity instead.

Christopher Robin suggests they all play Poohsticks at the wooden bridge to settle things and lift Eeyore's spirits. The game becomes central to the celebration, tying together the characters' friendships.

Despite being a first-time player, Eeyore wins the most Poohsticks games, much to everyone's delight. Tigger, by contrast, loses repeatedly and grows increasingly dismayed.

As the day winds down, most of the friends head home, with Eeyore accompanying a sad Tigger and helping cheer him up. The mood softens as they walk away from the bridge.

Back at the bridge, Christopher Robin, Pooh, and Piglet linger and affirm that Tigger is all right and that everyone is all right. The sense of friendship settles over the gathering as night approaches.

The narrator underscores the reconciliation and the renewed warmth among the group, reinforcing the idea that true friends look after one another. The closing moment emphasizes acceptance and the value of friendship.
