Pooh, a lovable bear with very little intelligence, resides in the enchanting Hundred Acre Wood with his friends. Among his companions are the melancholic donkey Eeyore, the nurturing Kanga and her playful son, Roo, the exuberant Tigger, affectionate Piglet, the meticulous Rabbit, and the wise Owl.
Living in a quaint little home marked as “Mr. Sanders,” Pooh awakes one morning feeling quite hungry after a bit of exercise, only to find that he is completely out of honey. Determined to satisfy his craving, he ventures out to retrieve some honey from a beehive nestled high in a tree. However, in an unfortunate mishap, the branch breaks under his weight, causing him to tumble all the way down, leaving him to reconsider his approach to get that honey.
In his quest, Pooh seeks the help of his friend Christopher Robin, who is cheerfully pinning a tail onto Eeyore in an attempt to uplift his spirits. With a creative plan in mind, Pooh borrows a balloon and rolls himself in mud until he is completely coated, hoping it will help him blend in with the surroundings as he rises towards the hive. Unfortunately, the bees unveil his clever disguise, leading to an attack that sends him spiraling back to the ground, with the bees in hot pursuit. In a comical turn of events, he and Christopher take refuge under an umbrella in a pool of mud, narrowly escaping the buzzing swarm.
Still famished, Pooh decides to visit Rabbit for a lunchtime snack. Despite Rabbit’s attempts to shoo him away, Pooh makes himself at home and consumes all of Rabbit’s honey reserves. In a bit of a twist, Pooh finds himself wedged in Rabbit’s hole, needing assistance to emerge. The intelligent Owl summons a gopher to assist in the digging process, but soon it becomes clear that freeing Pooh will take some time. Rabbit even decorates the area around Pooh as he is stuck, but whenever Pooh sneezes, chaos reigns in Rabbit’s abode. Days go by, and tension builds as Rabbit becomes increasingly exasperated by Pooh’s snoring, leading him to ban everyone from feeding Pooh, fighting off his protests.
As desperation grows, Rabbit finally relents, and the gang unites to help pull Pooh free. In a rather explosive style, Pooh pops out, startling the nearby bees, who fly away, thus leaving Pooh with an unintended bounty of honey.
With the arrival of winter, the wind picks up and carries Piglet, who is too light for such blustery weather, directly into Pooh’s path. In a chaotic moment, Pooh attempts to grasp Piglet’s scarf, leading to both of them being swept away to Owl’s house perched in the trees. During their turbulent adventure, they accidentally wreck Eeyore’s home and plunder Rabbit’s garden of its carrots. As the wind reaches its peak, Owl’s house tumbles down too, leaving them all in a pickle.
On a stormy night, Tigger makes a grand entrance into Pooh’s home, claiming a love for honey that leads him to devour Pooh’s jars. However, with Tigger around, the atmosphere becomes fraught with concern for Pooh’s honey, prompting him to guard it zealously. Soon, he drifts into slumber, plagued by nightmares of his honey being pilfered by elephants and weasels.
As heavy rains descend, the Hundred Acre Wood begins to flood, starting with Piglet’s house. The friends seek refuge in Christopher’s house, which remains dry. It’s then that they discover a message in a bottle from Piglet requesting help. In a moment of heroism, Christopher sends Owl to rescue Piglet. However, the rescue doesn’t go as planned, resulting in Owl and Piglet tumbling over a waterfall, with Piglet finding solace in a honey pot. Pooh, launching himself over the waterfall as well, is then saved by Christopher and hailed a hero for his bravery.
As the waters recede, Donkey announces he has found a new home for Owl, which turns out to be Piglet’s old house. Revealing his selflessness, Piglet decides not to mention it’s his house as Owl is in need, leading Pooh to extend an invitation for Piglet to stay with him.
In a humorous subplot, Tigger’s boundless bouncing wreaks havoc in Rabbit’s garden, prompting Rabbit to organize a protest meeting to find a solution to curtail Tigger’s antics. The group sets off into the woods, ultimately losing Tigger, but ironically, it’s his bouncy spirit that finds them and guides them home.
One day, however, Tigger gets himself stuck in a tree while trying to showcase his skills. The gang comes together to help, and in a moment of promise, Tigger pledges he’ll stop bouncing if they get him down. This stirs sadness among his friends who love Tigger just as he is. Seeing their disappointment, Rabbit revokes the promise, allowing Tigger to bounce again and bringing joy back to their group. Tigger reminds them that even Rabbit can bounce, leading to newfound excitement among friends who cherish the adventures they share together in the Hundred Acre Wood.
