From the moment Avedon Hammond takes the helm as command pilot of the I/P/T transport Armstrong, this space-weary NASA discard turned routine sub-orbital shuttle feels off-kilter from the start. The flight is suddenly reassigned to Cooper Wayne, a bold daredevil and Avedon’s ex-lover she walked away from. The mission, wrapped in secrecy, carries no paperwork, no flight plan, and only a handful of passengers on what should have been a straightforward cargo run.

The cast of characters includes Lazarus, a small-time hustler whose presence signals trouble, and Dr. Shepard, a skilled former micro-surgeon who has become dependent on his own prescribed meds. Also aboard are Cade, a tense young man determined to locate the wife who deserted him, and Sarra, a striking woman whose past hints at hidden dangers. The discovery ramps up the stakes dramatically, especially when one passenger becomes infected by the weapons and transforms into a murderous zombie. With danger closing in from both the ground and the air, Avedon Hammond and Cooper Wayne must shield the remaining travelers and strive to repair the damaged ship toward safety, even as fear and chaos threaten to overwhelm them.
