R-Point

In January 1972, a South Korean base in Nha Trang assigns Lieutenant Choi to lead a squad to extract a missing platoon from R-Point within a week. The mission promises Choi an early honorable discharge and a clean record in exchange for success, leveraging his history of insubordination. The team includes Sergeant Jin Chang-rok as they prepare for deployment.

The squad arrives at R-Point and is immediately ambushed by a Viet Cong woman who seems to vanish during the encounter. They also discover a week-old corpse, hinting at deaths long before their arrival. The chilling incident establishes a haunted tone for the mission.

The next day, a deserted French Plantation appears near the base, inexplicably untouched and enveloped in eerie quiet. Soldiers feel watched as they approach, especially around the plantation's second floor. The plantation becomes a focal point for the strange phenomena surrounding R-Point.

Corporal Joh Byung-hoon becomes separated from the group and later reports seeing other soldiers who resemble his unit. When he reunites with his comrades, he insists he witnessed the missing soldiers, but they dismiss his claims as stress or nerves. His experience foreshadows the hauntings to come.

While repairing the radio, Corporal Byun Moon-Sub intercepts a transmission from a nearby French unit. A French corporal named Jacques claims to have a twin brother named Paul, which raises suspicion since the Koreans are the only unit present on the island. The exchange deepens the sense that something is not what it seems.

That night, American soldiers arrive and warn the Koreans about supernatural forces on the plantation's second floor, cautioning them not to touch anything. The warning adds gravity to the unknown threat surrounding the plantation. Tension among the squad grows as the layers of mystery deepen.

As the soldiers try to steady nerves with a radio dance party, they suddenly hear terrified screams recorded on the broadcast. The eerie playback confirms that supernatural forces may be manipulating their equipment. Fear and paranoia spread through the group.

On the second day, they find Private Jung's hanging corpse, revealing that one of the missing soldiers has already died. The discovery is reported to headquarters, though its cause remains unclear. The death heightens the sense that R-Point is not just dangerous but haunted.

Lieutenant Choi begins experiencing visions of the Viet Cong woman who ambushed their platoon, suggesting the haunting is targeting him personally. The visions erode his confidence and undermine leadership. The crew's grip on reality grows shakier as events escalate.

Sergeant Oh encounters the ghost of his deceased friend and panics, accidentally triggering a booby trap that kills him. His death marks a turning point as the squad loses another seasoned soldier to the supernatural pressure. The ghostly influence appears to be actively directing harm.

On the fourth day, the unit splits into two groups and discovers a crashed Huey helicopter with decomposed American corpses, confirming that the figures they previously encountered were ghosts. The revelation shatters their prior assumptions about who is alive or dead. The discoveries push the survivors toward a desperate plan to escape.

Jin seems to return and behead Park, triggering a chain of possessions that leaves Byun possessed and Joh shooting Lee, until only Choi and Jang remain. A photo found in Jang's pocket links the Viet Cong woman to the deaths of the French soldiers and the Americans. Choi then compels Jang to point a gun at him, and at dawn the rescue team finds Jang alone while the others have vanished; an abandoned-base radio message pleads for reinforcements, implying they are not yet dead.
