Purani Haveli

A young couple, Raja and Rita, drive through a dense forest near a haveli and decide to stop for the night. Around midnight, a terrifying roar signals the monster's approach and it launches a brutal attack. Raja is killed first, Rita wakes to his screams, retrieves his severed arm, and is killed by the monster.

An old man named Narendra arrives after the massacre and confronts the monster. He uses a crucifix to terrify and trap the creature in an underground cage beneath the haveli. He then attaches the crucifix to the latch to keep it from escaping.

In Mumbai, industrialist Kumar and his wife Seema live with their niece Anita. They discuss purchasing the Murud haveli, with Anita introduced as part of the deal and expected to sign cheques for the transaction. Kumar hints that the final figure will be filled in after the deal closes.

Mr. Rana, a royal scion, meets Kumar in Mumbai and shows photos of the haveli, hinting he's willing to sell since he has no heirs. Kumar agrees to buy it, and Anita is briefly drawn into the transaction as she is asked to sign cheques for the deal.

Seema and her brother Vikram plot to have Anita marry Vikram so they can claim the estate. Anita openly opposes Vikram and remains in love with photographer Sunil, complicating their scheme.

Shankar, the haveli's servant, goes in to clean the mansion and senses the spooky atmosphere. The monstrous forces, controlled by the underground entity, brutally kill him, foreshadowing the danger within the haveli.

Kumar and Rana reach the haveli late at night and are confronted by the mansion's danger. The iron statue lifts and strangles Mr. Rana, and Kumar escapes, nearly colliding with Shankar’s dead body on the way out.

Running in fear, Kumar finds Rana's corpse in his car and escapes toward a graveyard behind the mansion. Fire blasts seal off the area as the monster’s spirit drags him underground, continuing the terror.

Seema and Vikram hire goons to threaten Anita and Sunil, pressuring Anita to yield to Vikram’s plans. Anita is ambushed and experiences fear as the plot tightens around her estate.

Sunil and Anita meet again at a common friend's birthday celebration, sharing memories of better times. Shobha and Anand urge Anita to visit the haveli with Sunil and their college friends the next day so Sunil can meet her there.

Anita, Vikram, and a group of about twenty-three friends arrive at the haveli, where Sunil confronts Vikram. During the commotion, one of Vikram’s friends, Michael, is killed by the iron statue on the first-floor railing.

Seema and Vikram lure Sunil into the tehkhana (dungeon) and leave him there, believing he will die or be unable to rescue Anita. Sunil wanders, trapped and helpless as the monster’s roars echo from the cage nearby.

An elderly Narender explains the backstory to Sunil: twenty years ago, a nun warned against letting the mansion birth a devil. The couple's baby was the devil, and when the wife died, Narender trapped the monster in the cage to keep others safe.

Vikram returns to the dungeon to check on Sunil and, mistakenly, releases the monster. The creature escapes and begins a violent rampage through the mansion, killing at will.

The monster pursues victims to a church, is tormented by the Almighty, and is impaled by a cross before his body is burned. The film ends with Sunil and Anita lighting candles at the church, beginning a new life together.
