Prison of the Dead

Kristof, Michele, Allie, and Rory travel to Calvin’s funeral at Hawthorne Funeral Home, a building said to sit atop the Blood Prison. The group, once amateur paranormal investigators, confronts a setting that blends a funeral with a dark legend about the prison’s hidden dungeon. The stage is set for a contest tied to a legendary item, the Talon Key.

Kristof explains that his father bought Hawthorne and organized a contest to prove the Talon Key exists. The prize is one million dollars, with Kristof offering to share it if the others help locate the Key. The Key is said to unlock a door to the evil the Puritans sealed away, though many details remain vague.

Bill, Jeff, and Kat arrive to scare the group in retaliation for Kristof sleeping with Bill’s girlfriend. Tensions flare as old acquaintances mingle with a grim purpose under the same roof. The mood shifts from prank-friendly to ominously real.

An Ouija board session triggers a temporary possession of Allie by a witch’s spirit, though she recovers after the session. The board summons three executioners named Sickle, Mace, and Scythe, signaling that the night’s games are turning deadly. The atmosphere shifts from curiosity to fear as the supernatural becomes tangible.

Calvin spots Jeff walking by a window, prompting him and Kristof to search the grounds for an explanation. Michele and Rory stay with Allie, trying to keep her calm while the others intensify the search. The group begins to fragment as fear drives a wedge between them.

Jeff is possessed by the witch and immobilized, and Sickle decapitates him. Kat is possessed next, and Scythe cuts her throat. The possession of their friends marks a brutal turn toward lethal danger for the group.

Rory and Michele retreat to the caretaker’s bedroom to have sex and do cocaine. Meanwhile, two executioners imprison Allie in metal shackles hanging from the ceiling. The night’s sins pile up as danger closes in on everyone.

Calvin searches for the others but fails to notice Allie’s severed arms hanging from the ceiling. Mace and Sickle descend on him and kill him, accelerating the collapse of any pretense of safety inside the house. The group loses a close ally as the hauntings become fatal.

Bill finds Kristof and learns that Kristof had paid Bill to jump him in front of their friends, a revelation that strains trust and hints at a larger game. The scene underscores how far the prank has gone from lighthearted mischief to dangerous real consequences.

Rory and Michele’s post-sex aftermath ends abruptly as Mace kills Michele. Scythe then cuts Rory’s throat after he leaves the shower, sealing their fates. The cascade of deaths intensifies the sense of a cursed night.

Bill is possessed by a witch, and Kristof learns the spirits may have been summoned by his actions. The executioners, newly unleashed, want Kristof dead to prevent escape of the spirits. Kristof is also attacked by a zombie Calvin but manages to kill him again, keeping himself in the dwindling line of survivors.

Kristof grabs the Talon Key from around Scythe’s neck and uses it to unlock a door in the old dungeon beneath the funeral home. As the door opens, the executioners and the zombies fade away, leaving him alone in the aftermath. He steps outside to be greeted by the limo driver, who reveals that the entire night was a prank gone too far.
