In 1968, amid the heat and shadow of the Vietnam War, a Green Beret platoon vanishes in a remote jungle valley after being attacked by unseen predators. Their commander, Colonel Jericho, orders a reconnaissance unit to move in and find them. The mission falls to a squad known as Vulture Squad, a tight-knit team built for dangerous frontline work: a seasoned sergeant first class who leads, a capable sergeant second-in-command, a rookie demolitions expert, two marines, and a pair of snipers. The stakes are grim and the terrain is treacherous, but the mission is clear: locate the missing Green Berets and bring them home, because their classified assignment could hold keys to a much larger danger.

When Vulture Squad parachutes into the valley, the environment itself seems hostile. The ground carries birdlike tracks and enormous feathers, suggesting the presence of a formidable predator or predators beyond the soldiers’ experience. Baker and Verne are eventually rescued by Sofia Wagner, a Soviet paleontologist whose past has been tangled with the valley’s dangerous secret. She shares a startling revelation: a range of dinosaur species were accidentally transported into the valley by a science project overseen by USSR General Grigory Borodin. This project was meant to push the boundaries of science, but it shattered the boundary between time and space. Sofia’s account is chilling—Borodin had her husband and many coworkers murdered to silence questions about the collider and its consequences. The trio soon discovers that the predator stalking Baker is a much larger, more dangerous raptor, and Sofia’s knowledge becomes crucial to understanding what they’re up against.

Beyond this revelation, the narrative widens as Vonishingly fast, the rest of Vulture Squad endures its own brutal encounters. The Dogs of War disrupt the firefight, and the valley erupts in chaos when a flock of Quetzalcoatlus descends, wreaking havoc and killing Tolstoy in the process. The squad is forced to split again, running to regroup with Baker, Verne, and Sofia. The rescue is hard-won as another wave of Deinonychus drags injured Keyes away. He fights back with grit, but a larger raptor delivers a crippling blow before the other Vulture Squad members reach him. The group’s escape from the predator-filled valley becomes a desperate sprint back toward Sofia’s research station, a fragile refuge in a land where every shadow could conceal a hunter.

As the survivors regroup, Sofia explains the deeper science behind their predicament: Borodin’s project is a particle collider designed to tear open wormholes through space and time. A malfunction during an initial test hurled every dinosaur in the valley into the present, a disaster that could ripple across the planet if the collider is reactivated. The stakes are no longer about a single mission; they involve the fate of the world if the experiment is repeated. With time running out, and with more predators on their heels, the team resolves to disable the collider and end the threat once and for all.

The effort intensifies as two fronts converge on a Soviet base. The Dogs of War launch a fierce assault, while a deadly pack of Deinonychus surges through the facility, forcing a brutal fight for survival. The raptors’ onslaught claims additional casualties, including Stovall, who sacrifices himself to draw the predators away and buy precious seconds for his teammates. The Vulture Squad presses toward the collider’s core, aided by a careful and increasingly uneasy alliance with a number of Borodin’s resistant soldiers, including Nikita and Sergei. Miller fights to protect his comrades, ultimately giving his life by detonating his own explosives to halt the raptor assault. The base’s defenders manage to push back the dinosaurs, but not without cost.

The climactic sequence centers on disabling the collider. Sofia and the remaining team members plant explosives and work to shut down the device, while Jericho arrives with reinforcements to steady the defense. The base endures another brutal raptor attack as the dinosaurs’ presence grows more chaotic; Borodin himself falls to the predator onslaught, and the remaining Soviet soldiers are overwhelmed in the deadly crossfire. Baker makes a final, selfless stand to buy time for the others, becoming the last line of defense against the onrushing pack. In a coordinated effort, Sofia, Verne, Xavier, and Sergei join Jericho’s forces to repel the attackers and withdraw as the collider is destroyed by the squad’s explosives. The immediate danger abates, but a sobering warning lingers: the valley’s dinosaurs, frightened and displaced, begin to migrate out, raising the grim possibility that the consequences are not contained within the valley but could echo far beyond it.

In the aftermath, the surviving members reflect on what has happened in a landscape altered by the collision of science and violence.
