Lucy witnesses a knife fight at her public school, stepping just a few footsteps away from the scene of violence. With limited funds and a desire to secure a prestigious education for Lucy, the family sets their sights on St Mary of the Veil, a Catholic school run by a group of nuns who uphold traditional values and maintain exclusivity through long enrollment waiting lists. Thus, as part of their deliberate strategy, the entire family begins to exercise the Catholic faith superficially, with the core intent of boosting their daughter’s chances of admission. Their apparent devotion helps smooth the path, and Lucy eventually ends up at the coveted institution.

What follows is a spiraling descent into lies, deceit, and violence as the family navigates the pressures of a highly selective system.
