During a relentless rainstorm, a young woman named Elizabeth arrives at an island convent with a quiet, unsettled purpose: her father has recently died, leaving her an orphan, and she has returned to decide whether to continue his charitable donations to the cloister. The atmosphere is thick with memory and duty as she meets the ancient, blind Mother Superior and is instead greeted by an unassuming novice named Sarah, who will serve as her guide.

From the first moments, the convent feels like a living relic, its corridors steeped in secrets. Elizabeth explains that she was born on the island and left at a tender age after her mother died in childbirth. Their explorations reveal a decaying library where a demon is sketched in a forbidden illustration and a pagan amulet glows faintly in a painting of two young girls. As Sarah moves toward the looming threat, Elizabeth seizes her chance to escape, slipping away from the catacombs’ suffocating dread.

In the final turn of fate, Elizabeth returns to the convent life, but not as she left it. She wears a necklace that holds the central fragment of the shattered amulet, a grim token of the family legacy that now threads through her. Her eyes, once shielded by cataracts, have taken on a new, eerie clarity that mirrors the blind Mother Superior’s own gaze, signaling a transformed identity rooted in the island’s ancient, unyielding magic.
