Parker, portrayed by Jason Statham, is a skilled thief with a strict moral code: he doesn’t steal from the needy or harm innocent lives. His mentor, Hurley, played by Nick Nolte, ropes him into a risky five-man heist with unfamiliar crew members including Michael Chiklis as Melander, Wendell Pierce as Carlson, Clifton Collins Jr. as Ross, and Michah Hauptman as Hardwicke. While the job initially succeeds, Parker refuses to participate in a subsequent plot that promises riches, leading the crew to betray him. In a shocking turn of events, they shoot him and leave him for dead in a lake.

Barely escaping death, Parker is revived by a family who brings him to a hospital. In an audacious move, he chokes a nurse, steals his uniform, and makes a daring escape. He then robs a check-cashing business, injuring one of the proprietors and commandeering a car from a woman outside. Fueled by vengeance, Parker reaches out to Hurley, declaring his intent to hunt down Melander, who he learns is plotting another heist in Palm Beach, Florida.

Meanwhile, the crew discovers that Parker is alive and hires a hitman named Kroll to eliminate him. As Kroll attempts to abduct Hurley’s daughter and Parker’s love interest, Claire, portrayed by Emma Booth, she manages to escape and goes into hiding at a Fish Camp. Hurley is anxious about the situation and suggests that Parker run away with Claire, but he is resolute in his pursuit of revenge.

In Palm Beach, Parker adopts the alias Daniel Parmitt and encounters Leslie, played by Jennifer Lopez, a struggling real estate agent dealing with the aftermath of a difficult divorce. She becomes excited at Parker’s apparent interest in her properties, crucial for her financial stability. However, her enthusiasm wanes as she realizes he is only interested in a house rented by Rodrigo, who is actually Melander. Leslie soon uncovers Parker’s true identity and offers her locality knowledge to help him steal the impending auction jewels, hoping for a commission in return.

Amidst their plans, tension escalates when Melander’s crew, disguised as movers, sets their heist into motion, only to learn that Parker is nearby. A fierce confrontation with Kroll leads to a bloody encounter where he stabs Parker but ultimately falls to his death. As chaos unfolds, Leslie discovers Parker’s injuries, and after viewing a video of Kroll’s demise online, she realizes the danger that surrounds her newfound partnership with Parker.

The crew successfully pilfers the jewels, but in a desperate measure, Leslie’s curiosity leads her into the heart of their operation. As she is captured, a dramatic showdown ensues when Parker confronts Melander, resulting in a fierce battle. In an unexpected act of bravery, Leslie seizes a hidden gun and turns the tide by shooting Carlson, leading to Melander’s downfall as Parker exacts his vengeance.

With all the crew members eliminated, Parker and Leslie finalize their plans for the stolen jewels. Even as they share a poignant moment, Leslie acknowledges that their destinies diverge and they part ways. Six months onward, Parker takes vengeance on the mafia boss who initiated his assassination. In a touching conclusion, Leslie receives an unexpected fortune in the mail, linking back to Parker’s hidden act of kindness to the family that saved his life, who attribute their newfound wealth to an angelic stranger.
