Operation Romeo

Adi and Neha, a couple in a conservative setting, plan a long night drive for Neha's birthday. Adi has bought a ring and intends to propose during the drive, though their families remain unaware of the relationship. The plan frames the night as a private celebration away from prying eyes.

On a dark street, a man posing as Sub-Inspector Mangesh Jadhav and his junior officer Patil accost them, accusing the couple of public indecency. They threaten to arrest them and inform their parents, heightening the couple's fear. Mangesh begins verbally harassing Neha, terrifying both and testing Adi's ability to defend her.

Mangesh demands a bribe of ₹35,000 to let them go. Adi agrees, but realizes he doesn't have enough cash, so they drive toward an ATM to withdraw the money. The tension escalates as the conmen press for payment.

Inside the car, Mangesh insists on sitting next to Neha and continues harassing her. The first ATM is out of order, so they head to another machine, while Adi grows more desperate and agitated. Frustrated, Adi pushes Mangesh, and the fake officer threatens to call his 'station' and arrest them.

Reluctantly, Mangesh agrees to revert to the original deal and accepts the ₹35,000 bribe as the price for their freedom. The couple heads to the next ATM to withdraw the money, hoping the nightmare will end. The tension begins to ease as they prepare to complete the payment.

At the next ATM, Adi leaves Neha in the car while he withdraws. When he returns, he finds Mangesh has locked himself inside with Neha, seemingly misbehaving with her. Enraged, Adi drags Mangesh out of the car.

After taking the bribe, the fake officers finally leave. Adi drops Neha at her college, and they part ways as they process what happened and try to cope with the breach of trust.

In the days that follow, Neha is shaken and hints that Adi did not act ‘man enough’ during the incident, striking his ego and widening the distance between them. The couple begins a quiet period of cooling off as they struggle with pride and trust.

Driven to uncover the truth, Adi returns to the scene and discovers that Mangesh and Patil are not real police. Mangesh is an ambulance driver and Patil a tailor, clearly impersonating officers to extort couples.

Adi tracks down Mangesh's home when he is away and repeats the harassment against his wife and daughter to mirror the abuse Neha faced. When Mangesh arrives, a fight breaks out, and Adi beats him, threatening harm to his daughter unless he confesses what really happened that night.

Under pressure, Mangesh confesses in front of his family and apologizes to Adi. He admits that he tried to kiss Neha, but nothing else occurred, confirming that Adi's reaction had been fueled by the fear of what could have happened.

Adi later visits Neha at her college and recounts everything he did to prove his ‘manhood.’ Neha, though shaken, is open to reconciliation and asks what exactly Mangesh did. Adi remains silent, then unexpectedly proposes, but Neha rejects the proposal, disappointed by his lack of decisive support.
