Once Upon a Time in Indian Country

A man disembarks from a train and walks the streets, only to be tailed by armed men who shoot him and burn his body to erase evidence. The killing triggers a police investigation that hints at a larger conspiracy behind it.

A village dispute spirals after a man is fatally wounded when Ranjeet's father confronts troublemakers. The brother intervenes, but the attacker dies and the brother takes the blame to protect the family, leading to jail. After serving time, the uncle returns to live with the family.

Gurtej lives with his family, has a sister named Deepi, and secretly falls for a mute neighbor. He earns money by singing backup vocals while studying and spends time with his best friend Ranjeet, who secretly likes a college girl named Tanvi Nagi.

That night, Ranjeet returns home late and worries his parents. Gurtej's family loses their tractor to an unpaid loan, and Gurtej consoles his father, promising to find a job and buy a new tractor.

Ranjeet and Gurtej graduate and hope for a fresh start, but job vacancies are scarce for youths without connections or funds. They face rejection and realize talent alone is not enough to secure work. Gurtej senses his father's disappointment growing.

The morning after graduation, the brothers learn that their father has died. They rush back to the village in grief, confronting a future that now feels unstable and uncertain.

Ranjeet and Gurtej surrender their fate to God and visit Harmandir Sahib to pray for guidance. An elderly man slips, and Ranjeet's instinctive act of help unsettles him, fueling rumors about a talisman. Gurtej urges caution and resists reporting anything without solid proof as the police dismiss their concerns.

A man drops a paper that appears connected to the earlier mystery, and Ranjeet realizes the danger is bigger than it seems. The man flees, and Ranjeet follows it home as others tail him, but burglars fail to break in and are captured by Ranjeet.

The paper draws them into a web of calls and hidden hands; a woman is sent to collect it and dies leaping from a rooftop while defending herself. A motorbike courier later snatches the paper, pushing the mystery further.

Pursuing the rider, they reach an abandoned building where the paper, dipped in silver nitrate, reveals a plan for a terrorist bombing in Harmandir Sahib. They try to alert the police, but by the time they return, the bombers and crucial evidence have vanished, leaving them to pursue the truth on their own.

On the day of the attack, they go to Harmandir Sahib to locate and neutralize the threats. They uncover the bombs and confront the bombers, and manage to kill them, but the police arrive and mistakenly shoot them dead. The city reels from the tragedy and the families mourn their loss.

The police chief later realizes Ranjeet and Gurtej are innocent and helps track down the remaining bomber who confesses, clearing their names. A press conference honors them as heroes, and the village holds cremations for their families in solemn gratitude for their courage.
