Alan, portrayed by Mauricio Ochmann, serves as a skilled negotiator within the Mexican police department, demonstrating his expertise during high-stakes hostage situations. He often takes the lead to ensure the safe return of captives. Alongside him is his colleague, Itza Sodi, who plays Menendez, while Clementina Guadarrama takes on the role of their babysitter, Maria Luisa. Alan’s wife, Tato Alexander as Victoria, is a busy therapist who must juggle her demanding career with caring for their daughter, Isabella Arroyo as Juana. However, the balance of their family life is fraught with tension, as Alan often takes Victoria’s efforts for granted.

Their home life spirals into chaos when Alan receives a call regarding a hostage situation involving his mother-in-law. He rushes to the scene, leaving Juana in Victoria’s care. Motivated by a deep sense of duty, Alan persuades the captor, José, that surrendering is his best option to avoid a harsher punishment. Meanwhile, Victoria’s attempts to manage her professional obligations lead to a crisis when her client reacts negatively to a situation where Juana unintentionally overhears their conversation. This incident causes Victoria to demand couples therapy, prompting Alan to agree to it. During a session with Geraldine Zinat in her role as Dr. Socorro, Victoria surprises Alan by revealing her affair with Nico, played by Gonzalo Vega Jr..

The plot thickens when Alan receives alarming news of the kidnapping of President Enoc Leaño Araiza. Vicente, embodied by Leonardo Ortizgris, is the mastermind behind this abduction, motivated by revenge against a corrupt regime that once wronged him. Vicente’s scheme becomes even more personal when he takes Victoria hostage, with her unwitting involvement unveiling layers of betrayal and conspiracy. As the police surround the location where Araiza and Lobatón, played by Fernanda Borches, are trapped, Alan argues for a strategic approach instead of brute force.

Amidst growing tension, Vicente demands a staggering $30 million for the safe return of the hostages, and he shows intelligence typical of someone who’s been involved in law enforcement. Alan, recalling Vicente’s troubled past, understands the depth of his grievances, including the loss of his wife and his desperate financial situation that was compounded by government failures.

Alan engages in a negotiation that tests his resolve and moral compass. As the situation escalates, he realizes that Vicenta is not only seeking vengeance but also a platform to expose the government’s corruption. After several harrowing events, Vicente ultimately releases the congresswoman Lobatón but still holds Victoria. Tension spikes when Alan discovers betrayal from within his circle; Nico is still implicated in Vicente’s plot, leading to a race against time to prevent further disaster.

In a critical moment, Alan brokers a deal with Vicente to secure Victoria’s release. The negotiation culminates in an agreement where Vicente won’t reveal damaging truths about the government if Alan ensures he faces a lighter sentence. In a twist of fate, Vicente’s video confession regarding the crimes of Araiza goes viral, positioning him as an unexpected symbol of accountability and sparking a nationwide anti-corruption movement.

In the end, Vicente proposes a partnership to Alan, aiming to continue the fight for social justice and reform. Although Alan doesn’t directly accept, his reaction suggests that he sees merit in the offer, highlighting the enduring impact of this harrowing experience on both their lives.
