Brynn, a talented seamstress, struggles with the profound grief of losing her mother and best friend, Maude. This loss has left her in a state of isolation and depression, deeply affecting her daily life and mental well-being.

To cope with her grief, Brynn immerses herself in creating a detailed model town in her living room. This small world serves as both an escape and a reflection of her turbulent emotions.

One night, Brynn is jolted awake by an intruder in her home, who is later revealed to be a humanoid alien. Panicking, she tries to escape but becomes immobilized, leading to a desperate struggle for survival.

After defeating the alien intruder with a shard from her model, Brynn discovers that all electronics in her town have stopped functioning due to the alien's interference. This marks the beginning of a chaotic night as she navigates through a town transformed by alien presence.

Brynn heads to the police station only to face a horrifying encounter with Maude's parents, who are the chief of police. Maude's mother spits in her face, increasing Brynn's sense of isolation and despair.

Seeking refuge, Brynn boards a bus, but her sense of safety is shattered when several passengers, now possessed by aliens, attempt to restrain her. She narrowly escapes and seeks refuge at a deserted church.

In the church, Brynn pays a visit to Maude’s grave, where she is met with a disturbing sight of people influenced by tentacled creatures. This chilling revelation adds to her fears about her community.

Back home, Brynn witnesses a glowing light dragging the alien's body away, leading to a fierce confrontation with two more aliens. Utilizing a broken mop handle, Brynn showcases her bravery by impaling one of them.

Brynn is captured by an alien-controlled man, who drags her towards a flying saucer's tractor beam. In a moment of desperation, she turns the tables by kicking him away, showing her will to survive.

A larger alien emerges to hunt Brynn down, but she manages to trap it in her station wagon, resulting in an explosion that destroys the creature. This quick thinking symbolizes her resilience against her fears.

Another humanoid alien captures Brynn and subjects her to a horrifying ordeal where it regurgitates a tentacled creature into her mouth. This creature induces vivid hallucinations of a world where her life is perfect and Maude is still alive.

The alien creates a duplicate of Brynn to hunt her down. In a harrowing battle, Brynn confronts and kills her own clone, highlighting her determination to reclaim her reality from the alien forces.

Inside the alien craft, Brynn is forced to relive the tragic circumstances surrounding Maude's death. An argument spirals out of control, and in an accidental moment, Brynn causes Maude’s death with a stone, leading to her deep-seated guilt.

Miraculously, the aliens release Brynn back to Earth, free from their control. However, she finds that time has passed and her town is now under alien influence, where the townsfolk welcome her back with open arms despite their control.

As Brynn resumes living in her repaired home, she grapples with her new reality of being welcomed by a town that is now different. The tranquil yet eerie acceptance forces her to confront her past and redefine her place in the community.
