After moving into a new house following the tragic death of his mother in a car accident, Chuck, his wife Maria, and his younger sister Isabelle begin to experience unsettling supernatural phenomena. The family’s recent upheaval has strained their relationships, especially between Chuck and Isabelle, who already had a history of distancing himself from his biological family before the accident. The trauma of witnessing their mother’s passing has deeply affected Isabelle, leaving her battling depression and mental health issues. While she prefers to attend therapy, Chuck pressures her to take medication, similar to what Maria also advocates, which sparks a tense confrontation between the siblings.

Soon after settling into their new home, strange occurrences start to escalate, casting an eerie atmosphere over the household. Maria and Isabelle report supernatural disturbances that seem beyond ordinary explanation. During this period, Chuck is approached by a neighbor who shares disturbing local history—specifically about Helen Foster, a tragic figure known for tormenting vulnerable individuals and pushing them toward suicide. Through this neighbor, Chuck learns that Helen Foster was a troubled soul whose anger was fueled by her daughter’s death from suicide, caused by relentless bullying orchestrated by a local school bully.

Helen’s vengeance did not end with her death; her spirit continues to haunt the town, targeting mentally ill people as a twisted form of retribution. As Helen’s harassment intensifies, she begins to attack Maria and Isabelle, culminating in a frightening incident where she possesses Maria without their immediate awareness. The haunting takes a darker turn when her attacks grow more aggressive, and her influence appears to grow stronger.

Determined to confront and banish her, the siblings discover that the only way to stop Helen’s malevolent influence is to find and destroy her ancestral home on 825 Forest Road, a house that no one in the town has managed to locate. With assistance from Isabelle’s friend Luke, who is a helpful and insightful ally, they realize that the farmhouse exists outside the current boundaries of the small town, which has gradually shrunk over centuries. They set out on a dangerous quest, leaving Maria behind with Luke for her safety, while the siblings search for Helen’s true resting place.

Meanwhile, a family Realtor arrives at the house to film a testimonial about the property. During the filming, the ghost of Helen unexpectedly manifests through Maria, revealing her tragic backstory directly to them. She confesses that her vendetta against the town and the school system was born out of desperation and grief. Helen’s daughter had suffered from severe bullying, which Helen tried to combat by reaching out to the parents of the bullies—sending letters that only worsened the torment. Her efforts to seek justice through the town and school authorities were ignored, fueling her wrath and causing her spirit to become vengeful. Ultimately, Helen took her own life, her spirit becoming fixated on punishing those she blames.

As her rage mounts, Helen turns violently destructive, killing Luke and the Realtor in her wrath. Back at the house, Chuck uncovers Helen’s old letters, piecing together that the house at 825 Forest Road was where the bully lived—an important clue indicating that her true “home” is the one Chuck shares with his family. Despite their efforts to intervene, Helen’s presence grows stronger and more dangerous, culminating in an attack where she materializes in her ghostly form and assaults Chuck and Isabelle.

Just as all hope seems lost, the film ends abruptly with the terrifying realization that Helen’s vendetta has yet to reach its conclusion, leaving the family and viewers in suspense as the screen cuts to black. The story explores themes of grief, revenge, and the tragic consequences of neglecting mental health, emphasizing how unresolved trauma can lead to devastating supernatural consequences.
